A silver four-door sedan parked in a spot close to the Commissioner's Landing. Tom extended his lean long body out of the car. Her breath caught in her throat. He looked even better than she remembered. His eyes were covered with sunglasses as he scanned the area. When he saw her sitting, leaning back on her arms he smiled and gave a little wave. He shut the car door then made is way over to her. She looked so relaxed. The wind was blowing her long locks away from her face. She smiled while watching him stretch his lean body then move toward her. She thought she was in heaven. He thought he had never seen anything so perfect.

She casually stood but didn't move. She tucked her thumbs in the back pockets of her jeans, waiting, feeling more nervous than she had anticipated.

He wore dark jeans, a blue tee shirt with a black leather jacket hanging warmly around his shoulders. The low sun reflecting off the red in his hair. He removed his sunglasses hanging them on the nape of his blue shirt. He looked confident but on the inside he was quite nervous.

"Gorgeous," he said as he approached her.

He didn't know whether he should hug her, kiss her hand or what. She wasn't sure what he was talking about when he spoke but when he got closer she realized he was looking out towards the river. Her heart sank. Part of her wished he had been talking about her. They both turned looking at the view.

"I told you that I could sit here all day and I have" she smiled, tucking her hair behind her ears.

"You weren't exaggerating" he said giving her a quick side hug. He smelled so good, she noted.

"How has your trip been?"

"Fantastic." They sat down together, "I've only been to Niagara Falls, New Haven, and Providence but it's been great."

"I totally forgot about Niagara Falls!"

"Oh you should go. Absolutely breathtaking."

She smiled, "So Providence wasn't that great?"

"It was okay. I think I was just anxious to get to Boston so I didn't find it that interesting" he smiled down at her.

What did that mean? She wondered. The sun was beginning to set across the river. She looked out over the water thinking about how awkward this felt. She didn't know what to do or say.

"Thank you for meeting me here" he whispered.

She turned towards him smiling, "You're welcome," she whispered back, "But why are we whispering?"

He laughed, "I don't know. I guess the reverence this place causes got a hold of me."

The park lights kicked on reminding them that it wasn't just them in this moment. "Where are you staying?" she asked.
