Annalise was holding on tightly to he brother as he pedaled on his bike to his band's rehearsal space. Today was the first time she was going to see he brother band play. It was hard to tell who was more excited, Alex, Annalise, or the guys.
Alex parked his bike outside the garage and Annalise was still clinging onto his back.
"You can get down now AJ," Alex said.
"Carry me!" She said holding on tighter.
Alex spun her around a few times as they walked into the garage. Luke, Reggie, and Bobby were already inside messing around with their guitars.
"Guys," Alex announced, "Meet my sister, Annalise."
"AJ!" She yelled loudly.
"Ok, but you guys can call her AJ," Alex laughed.
Alex put her down on the couch and the boys all came over and gave her hugs and high-fives.
"You ready to hear the greatest music in the world?" Luke asked.
Annalise nodded shyly and Luke held out his fist for a fist bump and Annalise returned.
"Put these on AJ," Alex said handing her a pair of big headphones. "We can get pretty loud."
Annalise listed to her brother and shook her body with anticipation as her brother and bandmates set everything up to play. When they started AJ's jaw dropped. This was nothing like the Mickey Mouse cassettes that her mom had her listen to. This was real music. When Alex saw the look on his sister's face, he knew this was a moment she was never going to forget.
It was this moment that Alex thought about for 25 years because 2 days later he would eat a street dog that would kill him.
