*Flashback (Age 3)*

"We aren't just going to throw his things way, Barbra!" Daddy yelled.

"He's not coming back, Jack! There is no reason for it to be here! He's dead!" Mommy yelled back.

"Don't you think I know that! He is my son, I am his father, and I am telling you we aren't throwing away everything that I have left of him!"

"And I am his mother! I hate this room! I hate everything that it stands for!"

"What does it stand for Barbra? That you hated your own goddamn son!"

"Screw you, Jack," Mommy said, she walked out of the room and saw me standing in the hallway. She just took one look at me and ran down the stairs and out the door.

Annalise's POV (Age 12)

Dad was still at work when I got home from school so I decided to go poke around in the attic. I can always find cool things up there. As I climbed up the ladder today, something told me to go to the other side of the attic, then I normally look in. I walked over there and opened the first box I saw.

Inside was a bunch of Sunset Curve t-shirts and CDs.

"What," I mumbled allowed.

The next box was clothes, but not just any clothes. They were Alex's, I recognized them from the photo albums.

"I thought I heard you up here," dad's voice jumped me as I turned to look at him. "I see you found your brother's things."

"You said mom made you throw it all away," I said.

"That night that we fought about it she left and stayed with your aunt for the weekend, so I boxed everything up and put it up here. She never questioned where it went. I'm honestly surprised that it took you this long to find it," Dad said.

"I don't know, I just never looked on this side of the attic before," I said.

I continued to move boxes around until I found the best thing ever!

"Are these Alex's drums?" I asked with the biggest smile on my face.

"They are indeed. Your mom hated that I bought those for him. I spent a whole week soundproofing his room so your mom wouldn't have to hear him practicing," dad said, he must have seen the way that I was looking at them because then he suggested that we bring them downstairs.

"But you made his old room into your office," I said.

"We can share the space," dad said.

"Can I bring some other things down too?" I asked.

"Anything you want dear," he said.
