Chapter Three

Iris P.O.V

Mr.Arewells designs as always were impeccable. I still can't believe he's not employed by the royal family. Although I do think that there was a mix up with my dress because while the rest of my all had on the royal blue of our village mine was not only an all together different style but color. My mother and Sister had been given beautiful long sleeved blue lightly beaded dresses which were as tight fitting as they could be since the dresses were lined with fur. Whereas mine was emerald green the bodice was tight against my chest despite the fur lining and was completely covered in beads which looked like tiny pieces of gold. And the bottom was like miles and miles of emerald green tulle and normally it would be too cold for a dress with a bottom like that but hidden under it was a skirt lined with fur which would surely keep my legs warm. It had pretty lace sleeves. We all received a white fox shawl and matching gloves. To say this dress was beautiful was an understatement, and my mother was furious.

"There must be some kind of mix up but that is what he made for you so your name was on it so i guess it will have to do" She said after she pulled it out of the chest.

Leaving me to get dressed so she could come back and try to do something with my hair and apply the "perfect" amount of makeup so i didn't look like a cheap whore. When my mother was finished torturing me i couldnt wait to get out and see what i looked like, I hated to admit but my mom was good at making me look pretty.

When I finally walked out of the room everybody was looking at me strangely.

"What?" I asked getting nervous with all the attention on me

"Wow big sis you sure do look pretty" My little brother Ren said smiling at me like an idiot which made me blush nobody's ever said that before

"Don't make such a fuss Ren you will make her head big now lets go were going to be late" My mother said ushering her children out the house and into the freezing cold so we could enjoy the celebration.

"Now you two stay out of trouble, your dad and I will be home late" She said while handing my little siblings some cash so they could buy things from the vendors

"And you're gonna be extremely busy today so please keep an eye on your siblings and you know where you can find us if there's an emergency. Please stay out of trouble and be very mindful of the visitors'' She said and handed me some money as well which i didn't expect

"Thank you mom" I said to her

"Your welcome" She said and started to turn away but stopped

"And you do look very beautiful today daughter" and with that she started towards where im sure my father was

Um okay? That was strange. I wonder what's gotten into her. Either way my kid brother and sister were looking at me like they were about to lose it so I turned and started making my way towards them so we could make our way towards the festival.

The festival was everything. There were so many different vendors; so many amazing smells and pretty things to look at. I swear they dragged me to every single vendor before they saw some of their friends and went off in a different direction after I made them promise me they would not go too far. And I believed them because the live performances started soon and I knew that was Ren's and Lily's favorite part of any festival we held.

So i started looking around not for anything in particular just window shopping. There were so many people out and everybody looked really happy. After a little while of walking around I spotted Evie and went up to her grateful for some company.

"Hi Evie!" I said to her touching her shoulder which caused her to jump slightly

"Oh my Iris you scared me" she said to me while grabbing her chest
