My computer rings on the makeup table in front of me. I was waiting for Ian to call while getting my hot and makeup done for the awards in a couple of hours. I haven't seen his face in well over a week now so I was excited to get to see him.

"Hi baby!" I grin from ear to ear as Ian pops up on my computer screen in front of me.

"Tessa, hey!" Ian smiles giving me a wave from his trailer on set. "How's my favourite girl doing?"

I sigh nervously. "Heh, I'm okay. Surviving on three hours of sleep but I'm good."

"Tess you know you shouldn't be staying up too long. It's not good for you or the baby." Ian shakes his head at me.

"I know, I know." I roll my eyes. "I just had to do a late night fitting for my outfit and I was signing some last minute paperwork for eye Candy."

"Well none of that is more important than the sleep of my wife and baby." Ian raises his brows.

I scoff laughing, "Okay Ian are you gonna be a party pooper or let me enjoy the five minutes I get with my husband?"

Ian puts his hands up defensively. "Alright, I'm sorry." He chuckles leaning forward on his mini kitchen table. "How's it going over there?"

I smile grabbing my long extension braid bringing it over my shoulder. "Look at this big mop," I giggle. "Isn't it so pretty?"

"You look great in everything babe, you know that." Ian grins. "So, uh, which of the outfits did you decide on?"

I huff leaning back in my chair. "The two piece."

"The one that shows your stomach?" Ian's brows raise waiting for a reply from me. I nod my head. "Tessa how do you expect to keep this baby a secret if you have your whole stomach out?"

Okay, now he's starting to get a little irritating.

"Ian I'll be okay. My bump isn't even that big." I assure him. "Plus, I made sure they altered the skirt a little higher so only the upper half of my belly shows. And for the performance my stomach will be all covered up so when I'm moving around I won't have to worry about anyone seeing the bump."

Ian sighs sounding very unsure. "Alright," He shrugs. "Let's just hope that no headlines start talking about a bump."

"Okay Ian can you stop talking like a grandpa for once and just be supportive?" I know the words that just came out of my mouth were pretty rude but I'm annoyed, starving and I'm getting pain in my lower stomach; that's not a good mix.

"Tessa I'm just trying to keep you in check." Ian says with a hint of sass in his tone. "If I don't, you sure as hell won't do it for yourself."

Um...what?

"Excuse me?" I raise my eyebrows.

"You heard me," Ian snapped back. "You always put yourself in messes and I always have to fix it for you. Your life isn't a little game, Tessa. You're in the public eye now, everything you do or say will get reported on."

I close my eyes to take a two second breather. "Ian, for once can you stop trying to be in charge of me. I get it, you care for me and our family but it reaches a point where I can't bear it anymore."

Ian scoffs widening his eyes, "Oh really?"

"Yes really," I nod.

"Fine then, you can figure it out on your own. But don't come running to me if the media goes crazy."

Without letting me say one last word, Ian ends the call bringing me back to the computer home screen.

"Ugh," I huff leaning forward on the vanity, both hands holding my forehead.

Why do things always have to get so complicated?

Just then, my phone dinged. It was a text from my costar Casey.

Casey Deidrick

Casey Deidrick: hey there rockstar! Just wishing you the best at the awards. I'll be watching from my tv ;)

A small smile appeared on my lips. Casey has been such a great friend. We clicked the moment we met each other.

Casey Deidrick: haha I know! Just wishing you luck. Hope you don't break any legs on the carpet😎
