"Salut! Une table pours deux s'il vous plait."

"Oui madame. Par ici!"

I nod and motion for Ian to follow the server and me to our restaurant table. We are brought to a booth near the back of the restaurant.

Thank God.

Ian sits on one side as I sit on the opposite and the waitress places two thick-papered menus in front of us.

"Merci," Ian smiles up at her, using the tiniest bit of French he knows.

"Merci beaucoup."

"Je serai bientôt de retour pour prendre vos commandes de nourriture."

I nod once again before she disappears and leaves Ian and me alone together. We have a lot to discuss.

I let out a heavy breath, leaning back against my seat. "I hope my cousin is okay staying with Selena for the evening."

Ian gives me a short smile. "I'm sure they'll be fine, Tess. Your cousin seems great."

"She's my aunt's daughter," I retort, "I can't trust her or her mother. You know, I think Camille has a little crush on you."

"The same way all of my cousins have crushes on you," Ian raises a brow, smirking.

"True," I shrug. I take a quick pause, thinking about how I'm going to bring up my idea. "So...uh, I know we haven't talked about this before, and I know it's still pretty early, but given the fact that Selena was born prematurely, that means that our son is possible to be as well."

"Yes..." Ian nods, slightly confused as to why I sound so nervous and am rambling so much.

"I really want you there for our son's birth," I blurt out. My eyes watch him intently, trying to guess how he feels about that before I continue. "And I- well I think that what would be best is if we stick together for the next couple of months in case I were to go into labour before my due date."

The blue-eyed beauty in front of me shakes his head up and down again, his arms crossing. "Of course, I wouldn't want to miss my son's birth for anything in the world."

I let out a breathy laugh, grateful he agrees with me. "Okay, great. Um...I'm in the middle of filming season one of Eye Candy, and you're in the middle of filming The Vampire Diaries."

"I could ask Julie for some time off," Ian offers.

"For two months?" I shake my head. "Ian, no, I could never ask you to do that."

"You're not asking, I'm insisting."

"Ian, that's too long. She would never let you do that."

"I could try to do an offer like staying one week in New York, and one week in Georgia, and I just keep alternating."

I raise my brows. "Are you sure?" I feel so bad, I wouldn't want him to lose valuable time travelling back and forth.

Ian nods, giving me a reassuring smile. "I would do anything if it meant keeping you and the baby safe and happy."

I can't help but return the smile. Out of instinct, my hand reaches for his across the table. "Thank you."
