" i was an island before you came along, put your boat in my sand, hand in my hand, your heart in my songs

THE BOAT SEEMED TO WAVE SOFTLY, FOLLOWING THE CURRENT OF THE SEAS. the purple thunder crackled throughout the gray storm clouds, the rain harshly pounded against the sturdy pine-colored wood that was used to built the crux ship.
miss beidou's voice boomed from the captain's deck. " up ahead! " she barked, earning the attenion of the familiar traveler, the archon's descendant, and the kadehara's child.
the archon, much intrigued by the muffled splewed words that slipped from the captain's mouth, slipped out from the lower deck's room. their feet were nearly silent, though pounded against the stairs, it was nothing to the defeaning rain. upon flooding out onto the upperdeck.
their eyes caught beidou's first, her eyes narrowed towards the archon's child before flitting up ahead, y/n's eyes followed the captain's gaze, only for them to widen like saucers.
though half-way through the storm, their hand rose, covering their eyes and half-assedly protecting them from the harsh rain that soaked their once soft hair, now left in strands of clumped locks that resonated noodles, if the noodles were thick.
" that's what happened?! " they sputtered loudly over the pouring rain. beidou's voice rung out thoroughly next to them. " not that impressive, but it's kept people from her island for the past couple years, ensuring the eternal lock. " confirmed the captain.
the archon faltered, their brain gushing loudly about how bad things have gotten throughout the years. their head snapped to look towards the captain, she, gave them a warm, yet reassuring smile. " why don't you head back inside? " she called, piping up before she could hear any protests from the quite older child; " we'll be to ritou shortly, don't worry. "
y/n opened their mouth, only to seal it shut, that repeated a couple times before the internal war with them ended, and they sighed, shaking their head as a nod, they approached the indoors of the ship after roughly shaking out their hair in the rain before rushing inside.
the h/c-ette grumbled as they approached the bathroom, trying not to let the water seep from their clothes and hair.
upon passing the traveler and kadehara, their hands wasted no time in grasping onto the strap off their bag, dragging it with them towards the bath before slipping inside and closing the door. making sure to lock it.
they hadn't planned on showering, no, though one sounded nice, they'd wait 'til approaching ritou, dully for the factor they weren't willing of getting electrocuted by their mother's storm.
their mother's electric powers were much stronger, than their own, so they simply tried to stay out of her sights at all costs.
upon stripping from their soaked cloths, they balled up the clothes, tossing them into the pebbled sink before grasping onto a towel and rubbing the soft plush against their skin. they were a bit surprised on how soft the towel was, but this was the crux ship they were in, how would members of the crux not deserve such luxury after a long day of working?
