Alex had lost track of how many days had gone by, but she knew at least this hall of cells was getting quieter. Hounds walked down the halls and would drag a creature out from a cell only for them to not return. If she was lucky, she would see a dead messed up creature of some vague car that a hound happily would carry like a toy. After relieving herself at a corner of the cell, Alex just grumbled and walked back to her friend. Jaslo was at least breathing normally, but she still hadn't gotten her eyes open or moved really. Alex didn't bother to try and lift her wings to look at her sides after the first long rest, she figured her friend would let her know if things were bad. With great boredom, she reached into the shoulder pocket and pulled out a handful of seeds from the apples she had been eating. Generally, one would avoid eating these but she was curious if the Blazer would even eat them. She stuffed them into the lips of the slumbering beast, who did nothing and that was that. She looked towards the gate as she heard boots coming her way, knowing it was time for the guards to come by. Alex slumped against the far wall as the guards came in, knowing they were just going to come in and kick her friend before dropping off food. She just waited, watching as two guards walked in on either side of Jaslo and watched the beast.

"Are they even alive?" One Guard asked.

"Let's find out!" The second guard chuckled as he pulled his foot back and landed a firm kick to the side of the Chevy. To everyone's surprise and the fear of the guards, Jaslo's eyes shot open with a loud roar. There wasn't any time for them to move as her wings unfolded, the claws of each wing stabbing right into their chests and pulled upwards, ramming into their upper jaws. Jaslo stood up, thrashing her tail and breaking the gate behind her with a deep snarl before lowering her wings and dropping the now lifeless guards. Alex froze, watching the Blazer snarl before calming down and shaking herself off with a loud huff.

"Let's get the fuck out of here," Jaslo grumbled, and Alex grabbed her jeans with a laugh. There wasn't need for another command as she climbed up onto the Blazer's roof, using the jeans as a way to hang onto the roof racks.

"So glad you're alive!" Alex pat the roof of the beast, and Jaslo nickered before turning and bounding out of the cell.

"You saved me back there. Now lead me to the room with the gate!" Jaslo growled, seeing two Hounds ahead of them.

"How do you know of that? AAHH!" Alex braced for impact as Jaslo chomped down into one Hound and tore the other apart with her wings. It was frightening how fluid her motions were for something so bulky. Jaslo tore off a leg of a hound and gulped it down like a gator would, taking a moment to let it settle before bounding down the hall again.

"The creature I was fighting told me of it. I knew him from the old laboratory. Then Mago came in and ended our bonding time, reason why I was down for so long." Jaslo held her wings up enough to protect Alex as Guards aimed and fired their weapons. Humans were no match her for jaws and a heavy slam of her weight against the walls.

"Fun. Here!" Alex leaned to the left, pulling the Blazer down a hall at full gallop. The two navigated the halls, taking down anyone that came up to them with fangs and claws, not stopping for even the closed doors ahead of them. Jaslo rammed them with all her might, knocking the metal doors clean off their supports and making everyone in that room look over in fear. The duo looked ahead to the glowing blue gate, knowing too well what it was used for. Everyone in the room ran, squeezing past the Blazer with shouts and general panic.

"Hold on tight, ight? I need your energy." Jaslo straightened out her tail and held her wings mostly open to her sides.

"My energy? You don't need me for anything."

"Yes I do! Hold your hand onto me and relax." Jaslo calmed her breathing from the recent run, and Alex did as she was ordered. It didn't take long for her to feel a slight tingle in her hand, running up her arm and into her chest. She could feel the tingle from around her, and looked as the membranes of Jaslo's wings began to ripple. The loud crackle of bare electricity caught her ears and she looked forward, now curious as to what was happening. Jaslo lifted her front slightly, opening her mouth as a ring of light appeared in front of her and aimed right at the gate ahead. Alex could only watch as the ring seemed to be charged from the Blazer's jaws, and a glowing orb formed between her fangs and the ring. Suddenly, the tingle in her chest turned to a sharp sting and right then the orb exploded forward into a large beam, hitting the wall to the side of the gate and shutting it off as it moved across the wall, turning pure concrete into red flowing lava. Jaslo stopped the beam and folded her wings, standing tall as the wall ahead of them melted into the room, and Alex could see it wasn't just that room. She gasped as the sting in her chest faded, and being able to see a good 20 rooms ahead now being lit by the molten rock and metal from the walls.

"Holy shit!" Alex just laughed, holding onto the racks again and leaning to move the Blazer out of the room. Jaslo followed the lead, but took her own path down a different hall. As the two ran, she lowered her wings and used the claws to slice off the locks and rip the doors off cells as they went, freeing every creature they came across.

"I can't do that often, but it is rather useful!" Jaslo stated.

"Doesn't matter, that was fucking cool!" Alex looked back to see so many strange creatures following them, right before they reached a very open room and all the beasts flooded ahead of them. Jaslo paused, looking around with a grumble. It took a bit, but Alex figured she was looking for the way out, and several of the creatures took no time in mauling each other out of frustration of not seeing an obvious exit. Alex leaned forward, willing Jaslo to move and trot towards the wall, and once they got there, she jumped down and began pulling everything she could. A keypad was hidden behind a small panel in the wall, and Alex just groaned know seeing that she had no idea what the code was. She began just hitting buttons, each one not being the code. Jaslo stiffened up, snarling loudly and slamming her tail into the wall as two beings entered the room, silencing and halting everyone else in the area. Mago stood tall with a still fresh gash across his face, hissing outa snarl at Jaslo as Simon stood by the serpent's side.

"Mago, would you please kill these pests?" Simon instructed, watching as the red beast lunged forward. Jaslo returned the motion, launched herself at her old foe and they quickly locked in claws and combat. Simon calmly walked towards Alex, dodging the other beasts that either went to back up Jaslo or started to ravage the other already fallen beasts. He took no time to wrenching Alex's hand away from the keypad, pinning their arm behind her back and pushing her into the wall.

"You think it would be easy to just fuck over my building and leave?!" Simon grunted as Alex kicked out at him, struggling to get control over her again.

"No, but I thought you would stay in your happy little office and be too much of a piss baby to show up!" Alex spat, wiggling free and headbutting the man before trying to punch in another code. Simon rubbed his face, sneering as he went to grab her again. Alex looked over right as he got close and dove out of the way. Simon followed her with his head, only to see something else barreling towards him and he could only widen his eyes in horror. The entire body of Mago was flung against the wall, crushing Simon and bashing open the hidden door in the process. Jaslo roared defiantly with the calls of other beasts as well before she tossed the mangled body aside and began to pry open the door. Alex bolted over and climbed up onto her roof once more, leaning in low just in time for the door to be pulled away and the flood of beasts to teardown the tunnel and out to freedom. A few beasts were ahead of them and as they reached the light at the end of the tunnel, but it wasn't freedom that greeted them.

It was gunfire.
