First ImpressionOliver's POV
"Are you okay?" I asked her as one of the guys helped her steady herself.
She looked furious, yet tears ran down her face. She didn't answer our questions; instead, she just stared into my eyes. Her gaze was hollow—shattered. She tried to mask it, but I knew better. I had seen broken eyes before, and hers were the very definition of it.
"Peanut, your father is gone now. You're safe here. We won't hurt you—right, guys?"
"Yeah," they all answered in unison.
"Peanut, I won't let anyone hurt you ever again, I promise," I said, my voice laced with sincerity.
I wanted her to feel safe with me. I needed her to trust me. This wasn't something I usually did, but I saw myself in her. Too much. The pain in her eyes was one I had once known all too well. I refused to let her endure what I went through because of my father.
Suddenly, I felt her arms wrap around my neck. She clung to me, her body trembling against mine. I swallowed hard, my chest tightening as I silently sobbed into her shoulder. At that moment, I didn't care about the others in the room. The only thing that mattered was making her feel safe. Then, out of nowhere, the others joined in, wrapping us both in a protective embrace.
"T-thank you," she stuttered, pulling back from the hug as we all took a step back.
"You should get some sleep. You must be exhausted," I said softly.
She simply nodded.
"Come on, then," I said, gently taking her arm and leading her to our room. A few of the guys helped me tuck her into bed. The moment her head hit the pillow, she was out. J.P. pulled the sheets over her while we quietly left the room.
As soon as I stepped out, I was met by Regie—my most trusted man. We had known each other since childhood, growing up together like brothers. Out of everyone, I could always count on Regie. That's why I made him third in command, right after my brother, Seb.
"Ty wants to talk to you," he said, crossing his arms.
"Great. About what?"
"I don't fuckin' know, but I'm guessing it's about what you did earlier."
"Oh, God," I groaned, running a hand through my hair. "Fine. I'll go talk to him."
With a deep breath, I walked off to Ty's office. I braced myself for whatever he was about to say. Hell, I was even prepared for him to punch me. Pushing the door open, I stepped inside.
"You wanted to talk to me?" I asked, standing in the doorway.
"Yes, I do," he replied without looking up, flipping through a stack of papers.
"What about?" I asked, walking closer.
"I think you know why, Oli," he said, still not making eye contact.
"I don't, actually," I lied, even though Regie had already given me a hint.
Ty finally looked up, his sharp eyes locking onto mine. "What the hell were you thinking, punching Peanut's father!?" he shouted.
His eyes were full of rage, barely contained.
"You heard what she said! You know what he did to her!" I snapped, my blood boiling at the mere thought of that bastard.
