We spent the rest of the day inside the house. Just the three of us. Sarah left with the excuse that she needed to go buy some stuff for the house. I believed the truth was, a) avoid the conversation about returning to Bloodline and b) avoid Riley and Jayden. The one was a harmless werewolf and the other one was a werewolf with anger issues. He was harmless, though.

Kind of.

By noon, Sarah hadn't returned. I wasn't worried. Even if she hadn't done this before and she was always back before the sun to go down, I could make a sense out of her behavior. Plus, she was more capable than me to protect herself in the darkness.

"I think the best is to wait until she comes back tomorrow, so you can talk with her." Riley admitted and I knew, deep inside me, that he was right. Waiting for her in the living room wasn't going to take us anywhere. He stretched out his arms and released a childish yawn. I smiled at the picture I had right in front of me. "I'm tired."

"We are staying here for the night." Jayden announced. He hadn't turned his body towards us since the moment me and Riley sat down. Which was about five hours ago. Riley was busy talking to me about how things were back in town. Jayden, on the other hand, couldn't take his eyes off the glass door and the view ahead of him. Which was just lots of trees, by the way.

I stood up. "Yeah, sure, Jayden. Thank you for asking. Of course you can spend the night here!" I clasped my hands in the air and stared at him for a whole moment. He didn't turn, but I was sure he could sense my eyes piercing his back.

"Will you guide us to our rooms?" Riley rubbed his eyes and jumped to his feet. It was almost nine o' clock, but he looked like he was going to die if he didn't get some sleep any time soon.

The best I could do for them was take them to Sarah's bedroom. The house was big enough for a family to live in. But the rooms in the second floor were only two. It was my bedroom, hers and the bathroom. In the first floor, there was a big kitchen and a huge living area. A second bathroom and then, there was a basement, too.

Sarah wasn't sleeping at night, which freaked me out when she first told me. But she was busy scanning the area for any threats and making sure the weapons in the basement were in the right place. She was scared. Very scared. I couldn't blame her. She had a vulnerable target staying in her house for the past few months and anyone would want to come take a look. Like someone from Devon's and Alice's team.

I gave Riley a pair of clothes he could wear to sleep in. Sarah's closet didn't contain much of her clothes. Most of the clothes there were inside of the closet seemed to be large and to belong to a male. But I didn't really care what she was wearing or what her pajamas looked like. Mostly because during daytime, she was always wearing her dark green shawl and I couldn't see the color of the blouse she was wearing underneath, or if she even wore something underneath.

When I got back to the living to check on Jayden, he wasn't there anymore. I assumed he had already gone to his and Riley's room to get ready to lay down. Even though I hadn't seen him following me to the room or heading there, when I was going back downstairs.

I closed the door of my bedroom and walked inside. I needed a shower, but what I really wanted was a few good hours of sleep. I changed into some more comfortable clothes and laid down on the bed. My bedroom there couldn't be compared to my old bedroom. My old bedroom was an actual teenage room. With books, decorations, purple pillows, shelves... This room contained a soft mattress and a few white pillows, along with a wooden desk and a bookshelf, where I had taken most of my favorite books from Bloodline.

It was not the same, but I was fine.

I rolled to one side, facing the balcony door and I slowly slammed my eyes shut.
