I woke up with a heavy pain in my head. I rubbed the spot I could feel the more pain at, but instead of getting better, it was only getting words. The doctors who had told me that the pain go away if you rub the spot, were liars. I glanced at the clock on the wall above my bed, which was clearly informing me that it was time for me to get dressed and go knock on Dante's and Michael's door.
I started pulling up the hem of my t-shirt with sleepy eyes, tugging it over my head when I heard a familiar voice behind me. "If I get to see you naked, does that mean you get to see me naked, too?"
"Jayden!" I yelped in horror and quickly covered my bare chest with the oversized t-shirt. "Jesus Christ! Why are you still here?"
He arched a brown eyebrow and shot me a questioning look. "In the room I'm sleeping in? Oh, I don't know. Let me think about it."
"You are the worst, you know that?" I glanced around the room, searching for any kind of help. I had no desire to get out the room and walk all the way down the hall to Michael's room, because there was a chance that thousands of people would see me half-naked then.
"Oh, is that your way of expressing your sympathy to people, danger?" Jayden mused, excitement dancing in his eyes.
I couldn't understand why he was still in our room since Michael had told me that Dante needed him downstairs before ten. And now it was past eleven. He should not be inside our room so I had some private time.
"He was talking about both of us, but I called him this morning and told him we wouldn't make it."
The dents between my eyes creased hard. "What? Why did you say that?"
I quickly turned around and rushed to pull the t-shirt over my head so things wouldn't end badly for any of us. When I jerked my body around to face him again, he was already standing behind me.
"I want to take you somewhere." He tipped his eyes down on my chest. My eyebrows shot up the second I remembered I wasn't wearing a bra and I crossed my arms over my chest.
"You? Where are you going to take me? To a slaughter, maybe?"
"Why would I do that when I can kill you myself?"
I clench my teeth and stared back at his serious face. But then a small grin broke out and I rolled my eyes, tightening my hold on my arms. "You need to be fully focused on what we came here for." He meant the magic Michael was going to use on me. Well, technically, he wasn't going to use any magic since he wasn't a werewolf anymore. "You don't have the time to get distracted by your shitty boyfriend. But we do have the time to relax you and get your mind off."
A strand of brown hair shadowed my eyes and his gaze fixed on it. When he crooked his fingers around the strand and twirled it in his fingers, slightly pulling on it. I jerked my head back, hitting the wall behind me.
"You look pretty naked." He pinned me with his look and my breath hitched, as he licked his lips and eyes fixed on them. "But you'd look prettier on top of me." The next thing I knew, his breathing was brushing my dry mouth and it immediately fell open when he sent thousands of shivers run down my chilly spine.
"Chase loves me." I breathed out, his voice calling him a shitty boyfriend floating into my mind. I took pleasure from his dark eyes and set jaw.
"Get dressed."
I had completely stopped breathing when he walked past me, leaving me standing breathless against the hard wall.
I hate the kind of effect he had on me.
...
He didn't betray a single clue about where exactly he was taking me while we were exiting the hotel. Neither did he when we ducked into Dante's black jeep.
