I set my duffel bag down on a bench in the locker room, grabbing my uniform, head piece, And my skates before placing the bag into an actual locker. I went to change, and came back out in a matter of seconds. I held my skates in my arms, walking out and to the bleachers surrounding the rink. I sat down, taking off my casual shoes, putting on my skates, tying the laces. I always sit on the closest bleachers to the actual ice so I can easily get onto the ice without falling over. I sighed, breathing in fresh cold air, shivering due to the air conditioning. I began to wobble, quickly getting used to the ice once more as I always have. I moved my feet gently against the ice, gliding around the outside, eventually spinning and going to the center. I focused my attention on staying balanced, continuing to skate.
...
I continued to do what I was doing, noticing a figure standing in the bleachers near my shoes. I squinted and skated towards the edge of the rink to get a closer look at who it was. It was a face I knew from the media. Dark Cacao Cookie. A winner and champion who claimed many gold Olympic medals. Something in me for some reason made me want to show off my skills, even though I probably shouldn't. But I did anyway, spinning , jumping and doing some stunts I knew and was capable of doing without messing anything up. I stopped, slightly gasping for air and wiping sweat off my forehead. I watched him climb down, sit down to I assume put on his skates. He bent and knelt down through the opening on the sidelines due to him not being small enough to walk under it. I waved to him, skating over and grabbing onto the railing, looking up at him again. It strained my neck to do so. He was quite tall and had a large build. And I stood there. Without any movement. I glanced to the side for a few moments, not realizing I was sliding away from the railing and to the center. I was lost in thought, beginning to wobble. I began to fall forward. I managed to catch myself before I could trip and fall. I couldn't stop myself from falling a second time, which I did. I yelped, face planting into the ice. I tried to push myself back up, but fell again back onto the ice again.
...
"....Owww..." I whimpered. Face planting into ice while wearing ice skates isn't the greatest feeling in the world. It seemed as if Dark Cacao heard me, gliding over, kneeling down with ease. I looked up ever so slightly to see him. He pulled me back up to my feet, dusting off my shoulders. During this entire interaction he hadn't said a word the entire time. He grabbed my arm with a gentle grab, guiding me over to the sidelines and to the bleachers. He took off his skates, putting on his sneakers, leaving the area for a few minutes, he came back with a miniature medical kit, opening it and getting a few things out of it. He motioned me to scoot closer to him, so I did. He began to clean my nose, wiping blood away, wiping away my child like tears, bandaging my nose when he was done. He grabbed my wrists, checking for any other injuries I could have gotten. He pushed himself up off the bleachers, Leaving again going down another hall farther away from the bleachers. That was towards the mess hall and the general area of where some ducks vending machines and drink machines were.
...
He came back after 5 minutes or so, sitting back down holding a few things. He handed me a can of Coco-Cola and a bag of miniature chocolate chip cookies. I'm surprised he managed to get one of my favorite treats without knowing it. He set a bottle of water he got for himself down along with an apple sitting on top of a napkin. We both began to snack on our food. I thanked him, getting a smile in response. I suppose that was his way of saying thank you without saying anything. We finished our food some time later. I decided to finally introduce myself and begin an actual conversation with him.
