Chapter 4

Nemuri drove Emi all the way to UA. Before heading to the teacher dorms, Nemuri checked in with Principal Nezu to make sure it was okay for Emi to stay there. Nezu agreed because he knew Emi and when he heard about her situation, he couldn't say no. Nemuri took Emi to the teacher's dorms after. It was starting to get dark outside, and classes were over. Emi started to get nervous when they got to the front door. All she was wearing was a blue baggy t-shirt and gray sweatpants. Not really a first good impression.

Nemuri noticed this and said, "Don't worry. I got this."

She opened the door slightly and peeked inside. Nobody was there. She signaled for Emi to enter, and they successfully made their way to the guest dorm. Emi threw her suitcase on the bed and sighed.

"Is Eraser here?" Emi questioned.

"I don't know where he is currently, but his room is right next to yours," Nemuri answered.

Emi sat on the bed.

"Why does it even matter? It's not like I like him anymore." Emi thought.

To break the silence, Nemuri stated, "Anyway, I'm going to head back to the main building and finish grading some assignments. Think you can stay here alone?"

"Sure," Emi replied.

"Okay, call me when you need anything," Nemuri added, closing the door.

Emi laid on the bed for a few minutes, rethinking everything that had happened earlier. Was she actually free from Kaito? She couldn't just stay here forever. Where would she go after? Suddenly, she felt a sharp pain in her wrist. She sighed, before looking at it. It was a wound, most likely from this morning. She had a ton of bruises and cuts on her body and lost track of how many there were. The white bandage wrap she had put on it earlier was now crimson red. It must have started bleeding again. Wincing in pain, she stood up and opened the door with her other wrist. She walked around until she found the kitchen. She looked in the cabinets for tissues or something she could use to clean the blood that was dripping down from her wrists to her arms. She didn't bandage it well. No wonder it started bleeding again. She took it off and continued searching. As Emi was trying to find something to use as a bandage in the drawers and cabinets, blood dripped all over the counter, making a mess. She sighed.

"Emi."

Emi turned around almost instantly and was surprised to see Eraser behind her.

"Eraser?!" She shouted.

"What the hell are you doing here?" He questioned, annoyed that she shouted.

Emi was about to tell him the real reason, but suddenly composed herself and said, "I was evicted from my apartment and needed a place to stay!"

That wasn't gonna cut it. Aizawa was smarter than that. Not to mention the conversation with Midnight and her. But he let it slide. He walked closer to her and was startled to see her bloody hand.

"O-Oh! This old thing? I was fighting a villain, and this happened." Emi lied.

"You're so reckless." Aizawa mumbled, opening a drawer.

He pulled out a white bandage cloth and started wrapping it around her hand, neither of them saying a word. To be honest, he was waiting for her to make another of those 'marry me' jokes, but Emi stayed silent. Actually, when they bumped into each other yesterday, Emi didn't make a joke like she usually did. He knew something was going on with her, and he was going to get to the bottom of this. When he was done, he put the bandage back in the drawer and washed his hands.

"Thanks a lot, Eraser." Emi spoke, softly.

"You don't have to call me Eraser. Just call me Shota." Aizawa suggested.

"No thanks but thanks, Eraser." Emi joked before running to her room.

She closed the door, jumped on her bed, and buried her face into her pillow. As much as she wanted to call him by his first name, she thought about Kaito. Whenever his name came to her mind, she froze. Just hearing his name brings chills down his spine. She took a deep breath.

"It's over now." She whispered to herself, "He can't hurt you anymore. You won the game...Or have you...?"
