KOOK & CHAE
—Jungkook stood in front of his mirror. This was probably the tenth time he changed his outfit as he wasn't satisfied with any of them.
It was finally time for their first scheduled date, and for some reason, he couldn't help but feel a bit nervous. He had just seen her last night, although quite brief and unexpected.
Still, he wanted to look presentable. He had an image to uphold. But no clothing he put on seemed to satisfy him, as if all these years, he forgot how to style himself. Maybe it was because he felt anxious, but he didn't know why. It was just Park Chaeyoung.
Now, Jeon Jungkook was not impervious to the dating scene (unlike what most fans were led to believe). He's had his fair share of romances and flings, but if he was being honest, nothing could have prepared him for this particular date. Not the days and nights they spent together in Madrid, nor the times they have surprised each other since then.
"God, just pick something already!" Namjoon complained at his youngest.
He had walked past his room multiple times in the last hour doing some chores, and each instance, he was wearing something different. It was causing him a headache.
Jungkook sighed. Why was he getting so worked up over this? It's not like this date was even real in the first place.
He decided to just settle for the outfit he currently had on which was a simple beige crewneck with lettering in the middle, cargo pants, and sneakers. The restaurant they were going to was a casual one so he was going for something that fit the atmosphere. It was actually just a small ramen shop along Hongdae that Chaeyoung claims to be her favourite since her trainee days.
Jungkook shoved his phone, wallet, and keys down his pockets, before getting one last look at the mirror. He looked handsome. About to head out of his room, he also decided to grab a bucket hat. Even though the whole world knew they were dating, doesn't mean he didn't need protection. Besides, if he didn't try to make it look like an idol relationship, it would seem like they were just begging for their pictures to be taken.
"Hey, Kook," his leader called out to him, in a more softer tone this time around, before he could fully step out. He stopped in his tracks. "Be nice, okay? I know you're not on the greatest of terms, but still, she's a lady."
"Of course hyung," he responded.
What did they think he was going to do, leave her in a ditch? No, it was far from the image his members probably had in mind as he even offered to pick her up from her residence, simply because it wouldn't look good for publicity that they arrived separately.
The car ride there was not too long. This was the first time he had ever seen where she lived and the complex seemed very nice, very expensive.
'I'm here,' he texted. Surprisingly, the last time they conversed on messages was the planning of this current date.
