Dan was sat in Starbucks, scrolling through tumblr on his laptop. He'd needed to get out, away and this place was close and warm.

He looked up and realised that it had gone dark now. The waitress was pointedly cleaning tables, glancing at him every so often. Dan was just about to leave his comfy corner when the door opened, releasing a gust of cold air into the room and a man walked in.

He was tall and pale with ebony hair flopping over his forehead. Despite the temperature outside he was in a t shirt which revealed a blue sleeve of tattoos winding their way down his right arm. The man was gorgeous and, as he sauntered over to the counter, Dan watched him, transfixed.

The man ordered his drink, his voice had a soft northern twang to it. Dan went back to his laptop, flushing slightly.

A cough made him look up. The man was standing there, a smirk on his face. "Is this seat taken?" he asked, raising an eyebrow toward the chair opposite Dan. Dan stared. The man looked at him quizzically, still smirking. Dan snapped back to reality. "Uh, yeah. Yeah it is...um" he flushed red and lowered his head.

The man sat down and they sat there for a few awkward moments. Dan decided it was time to go. He started to get up. The man was watching him. Dan put his laptop in the bag and tried to zip it up. The zip stuck. Dan groaned quietly and tugged desperately at the zip. "It...um. It always does that." He let out a near hysterical laugh before hauling the bag into his arms. He was just about to turn and leave when the stranger spoke. "Wait."

Dan froze. The man stood up and Dan noticed that the man was slightly taller than him. "Will you be here tomorrow?" Dan swallowed and nodded. "Good." The stranger sat back down and continued with his coffee as if Dan wasn't standing there bright red, screaming internally. Dan turned and headed towards the door again.

Just as he reached it, he tripped over the bag strap and would've gone sprawling but instead fell against the door with a loud thud. The waitress threw him a dirty look as he yanked the door open and ran down the street. As the door swung shut behind him, he could've sworn he heard light laughter from the stranger's direction.
