They had spent almost every day together since. And whenever they were apart, Dan would pace listlessly around his flat, waiting for Phil. Usually he would see Chris but he still hasn't found the courage to call him. He was pretty much alone, except for Phil but even he would disappear at times.

That was one thing Dan was curious about. One day Phil would seem to vanish, calls and texts ignored. Dan would try to ask him about it but he was brushed off with an 'oh no, I don't want to bore you' then a quick change of subject. Dan didn't want to scare Phil away so he let him. But he spent hours thinking and theorising about it.

Then one day, Dan decided to surprise Phil at his flat. He hadn't seen him for a few days and he was worried. On the phone, he had been vague about why he didn't come out but adamant that Dan shouldn't come over. However, he'd had enough.

He stood at the door of number 22, staring up at the the bleak building. The rain was coming down heavily and a thin coat was his only protection. He pushed open the front door and it creaked loudly but apart from that- silence. "Phil?" he whisper shouted. "Phil?" No response. There was a door to his left which was open a crack, he pushed it open. It was the living room.

A tattered sofa sat in the middle of the room, the only other furniture was a flatscreen Tv. There were no pictures on the dirty cream walls and one of the windows was bordered up. A slight breeze made Dan pull his coat tighter around him.

He explored some more but only came across a derelict kitchen and an untidy bedroom. There was still no sign of Phil.

As he walked into the hallway once more, he noticed a narrow staircase leading up from the ground floor. Dan walked cautiously towards it. As he put one foot on the bottom step, it creaked loudly. He froze. There was no sound, the house was still silent.

As he reached the landing, he gasped.

The top floor could not be more different than the bottom. The floor was a dark oak colour and the walls were a rich cream. Dan couldn't believe it was the same building.

He walked towards the first door and pushed it open. He gasped again. Phil was lying on the king size bed, eyes shut. Bruises covered his face and Dan noticed cuts on his bare arms. "Phil!?" He ran towards the bed and shook him. Phil didn't stir.

Enjoy!!! Xx
