Glancing down at his phone, Sherlock prepared himself. This call would be the last time he heard from John in a long time, a long, long time. He picked it up.

“Sherlock? Oh good, the trick to flying is to throw yourself at the ground and miss, I know it sounds insane, but trust me I’ve done it plenty of times. You just have to get surprised by something randomly, like snow in summer. “ Of all the things he had been deducing, that was not one of them.

“Just trust me, its madness, but I’ve seen enough of that to believe anything. “ He brought the phone away from his ear and stared at it oddly, then turned to John who was staring at him quite detached at the bottom. He caught a nod from the shorter man at the bottom. He shook his head at him, not quite believing that John was truly mad.

And of course, everything happened as we all know it. John, rather Arthur, just sighed and headed back to the 221B to snatch a towel and go hitch a ride with a time-traveler. Poor man didn’t know that Sherlock was still alive. Oh well.
