Confusion - Dougie B

"C'mon man stop playin with me Douglas"I said annoyed

Dougie stopped laughing, and mugged me. "Aye man what I told you about calling me Douglas, it's Dougie"He said animatedly

I waved him off, as l moved around my apartment getting my jacket. "Are we going or what niggah? You steady laughing like you crazy or something".Smacking his lips Dougie followed behind me closing the front door as we left, "Man y'know what"-"

"What?"I asked cutting him off

Dougie signed,"Y 'know between you and Kay ion know who gon stress me out more"He muttered

I rolled my eyes as he opened the main door to the apartment complex holding it open for me.I've known Dougie since I ran over his phone after he was running from his auntie down the block , and when I went to go and apologize he started spazzin' and then the rest is history. There was always some sort of tension between the two of us but it wasn't weird, he wasn't my man and I wasn't his girl by any means but for some reason that's lowkey the vibe.

Everyone always assumed we were together because literally we were always together,"Niggah you finna go or what?" Dougie said

"Yo, what I told you about talkin' to her like that? "A voice said from a distance

"Yeah Douglas what did Setty say?"I mocked

Setty smacked his lips before giving me a hug that after a minute Dougie came over, and removed Setty from the hug. "Y'all are buggin I ain't talking to her no way"

"Bro, you betta watch out someone gon end up takin' ha and then you gon be S.O.L"Setty laughed

Dougie just smacked his lips looking away,Setty and I high-fived each other because silencing Dougie was a task only Setty, Kay, and I could do.The three of us walked down the block to the gas station. After walking through the aisles I picked up some stuff and brought them to the counter. Setty looked through what I put down and mugged me,"Bro am I invisible to y'all?" He asked

I looked at him confused before he pointed to the counter, looking down at the snacks both Dougie and I put down we realized that we both picked up snacks that the other person eats/wants. "At this point y'all not being together makes no sense"He said shaking his head and going to grab a drink.

When I looked up at Dougie a small smile played at his lips,before he pulled out his wallet paying for the snacks.He held the bag as we walked down the street, once we arrived at the ball park everyone was already there including some somoochies that were obviously brought by some of the guys." Look it's my wife" J.I. exclaimed coming to give me a hug

Dougie placed his hand out in front of J.I.'s chest stopping him. "My boy what're you doin'?" He asked

"Man don't you know that sayin'?" Dougie responded

J.I. looked just as confused as the rest of us,"Bro what are you talkin-"

"Keep ya hands to yaself dickhead" Dougie said which caused everyone to burst out laughing. J.I. just shook his head. "Word to you buggin bro"

I chuckled looking over to Dougie who smiled while talking to the guys,the more l looked at Dougie the more it confused me. I've obviously felt the butterflies and I most definitely can see that he's an attractive guy but was I honestly ready to go there with Dougie? Did I want to cross that?

The whole time I was in my head I didn't realize he'd left and reappeared this time he was hella close to me. "Come talk to me real quick"

Blinking I nodded before the both of us walked over to one of the benches."What's up ? "I asked taking a seat

"I been jacking you, something's different and I ain't talking about ya hair"He began

I chuckled, "And if somethings different?" I asked looking up at him through my lashes

I could see his demeanor visibly change as he took in a breath going to sit on the top part of the bench, "Let me take you on a date"
