...
Saturday.
I woke up with a messy hair, once again like I always do. It was 8 in the morning, super early.
I walked towards the bathroom and brushed my teeth. Then, I brushed my messy and tangled hair but I left it untied.
I smelled the smell of eggs and bacon outside again. I opened the door to see Mike in the kitchen flipping something. It's usual though, I see this everyday. He cooks breakfast for me, I cook lunch for both of us, and he orders food delivery for our dinner.
As I walked out of the room with my pink sweater with a cartoon deer on it, he looked at me and smirked, then continuing his cooking.
"Morning."
He said with his deep voice.
"Good morning. What are you making?"
"Eggs and bacon."
"Great!"
I got a little too excited. He chuckled.
He grabbed a plate and some silverware out of the drawer. He put the eggs and bacon onto the plate and placed it onto the dining table for me.
I placed my phone down on the table with the screen facing up.
Then, after not even having one bite, my phone rang. I got a call from my mom.
"Hey...sweetie. I know these days have been hard for you, but I'm afraid you'll have to stay at your friend's house longer."
"O-Okay..."
"Remember that I love you forever sweetie."
"Wait but mo-"
She hung up.
What the fuck is happening? This feels like a fever dream.
"Who was that?"
Mike asked curiously.
"It was...my mom. She said she wants me to stay at your house for as long as she said so."
"Well, do you want to?"
He asked.
I blushed. I wanna live with him but I don't think he likes me sticking with him most of the time.
"Yes!"
Well that came out of my mouth pretty quickly. Oh my god.
He looked at me with a smirk.
"I think this house is mine now. No one will come back."
He said with his smile fading away. I remember over short conversation last night. His mother and little sister is moving to Korea. But...do we even have enough money? Enough money to even survive?
"Mike...do you think we could get a part-time job?
"I was thinking about that too."
"Well, what do we do?"
"I don't know..."
I felt like I was regretting my decision to move in with him. All I did was bring him down...
knock knock
Someone was at the door.
I got up from my seat and headed for the door. The wooden floor creaked softly as I walked nervously. I grabbed the door knob and twisted as the door revealed a tall grey man in a suit.
He had a name tag, "Sebisn Pdiorni" was labeled. Sebisn? What a weird name. I stood there.
He handed me a train ticket from Shinki Station. I didn't know what to do at that situation though, as I saw the train station's name. Then I remembered so much that happened at Shinki Station. I understood nothing but at the same time, understood everything. Curiosity... took over once again.
I took the letter and was ready to close the door without saying a word. The man suddenly raised his hand and gave me the V sign. What?
He brought out a signing board out of thin air, so I had no time to react. I suppose I was required to sign it. I signed my name on the line using the blue pen that was attached to the wooden board's top clip. He left right away.
I just woke up. I felt like I was in a dream.
"Mike, did you order this?"
"No. What's that?"
"A train ticket of Shinki Station."
We were stunned.
He took a look at the back of the ticket and found some small words.
"blue"
"Letter!"
I said accidentally.
"...I think we should check the blue letter."
I said accidentally again.
He nodded and walked to his room to get the letter. He reached inside of his bag and grabbed the letter.
I helped him to open the letter. The text changed. How?
"zoEy, youR pareNt iS There."
The train ticket's reaching destination is Setsun, where my grandmother lives. My mother or father is going there, I assume. This is not surprising but that's the least of my concern right now. Who was the man who handed me the ticket? and why did the text change unknowingly on the letter?
