Kitti wakes up to a clean green field and plentiful of agricultural land. The door bell rings and a three-headed, 9-eyed Cerberus named Trevior is at her door. Her grandfather tells her she has been away for six months. She learns that kitsune starts entering puberty when they reach the age of 13 which is considered adulthood in the fae realm.
Kitti turns 12-years-old and it becomes time for her Grandfather to reveal the way of the Kitsune to her. He tells her that each March on the vernal equinox all of their tails (along with one part of their human soul) turn into harmless white baby foxes as they go through puberty and submit to change before returning peacefully back on their human form after six months before their birthday.
