Dan had really never experienced anything like Zacharie and enjoyed every moment with the albino. Zacharie was still his shy self and spent most of his time clinging to him but that's only in pivate. In reality, they just stayed as friends in the public eyes but this didn't fool Dan's former possy. They had seen Zacharie and Dan kiss in the library and were obviously not pleased one bit. They couldn't believe that their friend from all these years had turned against their own words from what they said when they were younger.
"Hes just another gay faggot." One of them growled during a baseball practice. He kept swinging the bat ferociously at the air. Another one was on a nearby bleacher with his headphones in. "Such a shame and here we thought that we had a decent leader." The guy in the headphones sighed. "Then we teach 'm a lesson. We teach 'm what happens with gay faggots in this town! A good ol' smack down outta show 'm good, ain't it right, Phones?"
"Whatever floats your boat, Batter. I'm quite bored." He sighed and got up.
Batter laughed and texted Dan to meet him and Phones. Batter had texted Dan who was at the library with Zacharie, studying.
"Well, they're finally talking to me again." Dan sighed and ruffled the back of his hair with Zacharie occasionally looking up from math problems.
"What about it?"
"They want to meet up." Dan sighed as Zacharie paused in mid work. He had an odd feeling about the when idea of meeting up. They didn't seem to be the people who would do something like this with a change of heart.
"I don't like this idea." Zacharie firmly stayed as Dan leaned forward and sighed. He gave his boyfriend a reassuring kiss on the forehead.
"Relax, I know them."
"And I do, too. How do you know they're not going to make fun of us in public?"
"... I don't?"
"Exactly. I don't trust them, Dan. I'm sorry but I just don't." Zacharie sighed and rubbed his arm up and down. Dan sighed and tried reassuring Zacharie. He promised that he would help out any way he could if he and Zacharie were in any sort of harm ranging from dumb pranks to actual assault. Zacharie reluctantly gave in and Dan had texted them back that he would meet them at the park with Zacharie. They both pack their stuff and leave the library and walked there together. Zacharie couldn't help but fidget and Dan couldn't blame him. The other did have some really bad experiences with his friends.
Once they were there, Batter and Phones had been using the free baseball field that the park had provided to practice. "Dan, my man!" Batter called out and dropped the metal baseball bat and went up to the duo. Phones followed quietly behind him but Zacharie could feel the icy cold hate burning into his skin from Phone's glance. Zacharie whimpered and hid behind his boyfriend making Batter laugh. "This ya man? He a lil shy kid, don't cha think?" Dan just laughed at Batter's remark and ruffled Zacharie's hair. "Let's just have a lil talk, ya know. Getting to know ya new man and how things are working out for ya." Batter hummed and glanced over at Zacharie and ruffled his hair. This made Zacharie flinched with discomfort. Batter went up to pick up his things while Dan and Phones chatted. Zacharie stayed quite trying to get a grip on things. Is this really how they were? Did they change because of Dan? If it was a change, it was oddly pleasant. Zacharie was smiling somewhat but he had his doubts. They decided to take a little walk out onto the nature trail close by and the three friends mostly did the talking. Zacharie stayed quiet. Batter had stopped walking and turned to face them.
"I think we should discuss about something rather important."
"Important?" Dan raised an eyebrow and wrapped an arm around Zacharie's shoulders.
"Yeah, we outta discuss a serious problem relating about you two."
"Problem? What problem?"
"We don't like faggots..." Batter dragged out each syllable as Batter raised a bat over his head. Dan pushed Zacharie out of the way but it still managed to hit the other boy in the back of the neck making him ache. He kept running even though he knew the other would catch up. This is why you don't ditch gym and go write poems somewhere. Batter did catch up with Zacharie and managed to hit him hard with the metal baseball bat. Once in the head and a few times in the legs so he wouldn't be able to walk right. Zacharie could feel his head bleeding but was more worried over Dan than himself. Dan was being held back by Phones while Batter smacked away with the other. He could hear the sound of a tazer but that's all he heard, not what he saw.
