The children
Loud music blared as vibrant lights escape the circus tent it was bustling with joy and amazement and standing nervously two skrawny kids stand nervously outside.
"Like dudette are you sure bout this... cause like man I've heard stories from other carnies mannn one of the owners is like a rabid dog ready rip you apart man" the skinny boy slurred he turned is hair to the girl next to him.
"Oh Eddie we just gotta prove we can good help anything for them to take us from this hell hole... but can we go talk to them after the show... I've never seen a circus before" the girl mumbled nervously twiddling her thumbs.
"Sure thing val... but dude if you wanted to see a show you can get right heerrrrreee" Eddie said cupping his chest shaking it in her direction a slow laugh slipped past his lip seeing the girl look away embarrassed.
As the two teens sneak their way into the circus and crouch near the front row their eyes lock onto the woman in the center of the stage.
"Ladies and gentlemen! I hope you all are having a lovely evening tonight I will be your host marama!" As the woman reaches out her arms a great sting of light illuminates her body and smoke appears at her feet. Suddenly a loud crackle of laughter comes up behind her and out pops a shorter person with a face of a clown.
"Woah woah woah!!! Hehehe mar mar aren't you gonna tell them what this wonderfull place is?!!" The clown cackled out some more scanning the crowd hungrily.
"Woah that clown dude is sick bro and the angle lady hooot af!!" Eddie whispered to his now mesmerised friend.
"Oh yes hmmm what was it called again" marama put a finger on her chin thinking slyly.
And as if this was a random occurrence marama eas scooped into the air by the previous clown that was hanging upside down.
"Ahh give it a little more enthusiasm mar mar!" Goon chuckled out swinging their wife around flipping them to a small stage higher then the original.
"Yes yes goonie I'm building suspense! Silly" marama chuckles scanning the audiance,
"Ya know if you guys cheer maybe we can get her to answer fasta what do y'all reckon aye?!" Goon yells out which was met with excited cheers roaring one after the other.
"Oh yes! That's right! " just then goon and marama both jump from the high stage to the lower grounds and smoke admits from their feet and in unison they yell.
"WELCOME TO PHANTASMA EVERYONE it's one hell of a show~" and with that they disappear and the first act begins.
As the teens watch in pure amazement for the rest of the show purely enjoying what they are watching and as soon as it finished they spring from their seats.
"That that was amazing! I I want to be a clown!! They are just so cool did you see that Eddie!" Val shook the boy ecstatic.
"Ye ye dudette I hear ya cmon let's catch the boss man before they tare this shit down!" Eddie responded happily looking around.
The two scamper around and sneak back stage ducking behind a large box.
"Ahh what a fucking show those suckers really enjoyed the beginning didn't they!" Goon said streaching their muscles
"Haha I guess so but I'm suprise that line held you I was certain I loosened it Haah guess one of the back crew fixed it" marama pouted slightly... then her eyes shifted from goon to the boxes nodding her head slightly.
"Haha clever as always mar mar but you sure it wasn't the two rats sneaking around easedropping?" Goon said loudly as they grab the two teens by the scruff of their necks lifting them up smirking.
"So... what are you two doing sneaking around our lovely home" marama voice was just above a whisper the calm voice washing over the two teens.
"We want to join!" Valentine said in excitement grabbing the boys arm next to her slightly bouncing up and down.
"Woah slow your roll pinkie you sneak into our circus I assume u didn't even buy a ticket and want us to hire you" goon gruff voice spoke as they pop a cigarette into their mouth lighting it.
The girl shrink backed ducking her head.
"Woah woah dude why don't we make you an offer hm" Eddie slurred protectively standing infront of Val staring goon down.
The smoking clown sharp tooth grin spread across their face while taking a long drag from their ciggie finally exhaling the the smoke into the boys face...
A crackle of laughter hits the air it cracked from time to time almost that of a hyena.
"An offer you say boy~ now this is priceless you hearing this shit mar mar"
"Yes yes I heard goonie why don't we hear them out before you sick grog onto them" marama smiled sickly sweet at them a sharp shiver ran up their spine.
"If you take us with you guys we we will work for free man ya know free labour you seem like the shady type we can be super helpful " Eddie said seriously looking between the owners infront of them.
That's when goons smile grew and they threw their head back giggling holding their sides almost falling over if the angel didn't hold them.
"What an offer... I mean two of the backstage crew did quite after you lashed them out goonie" the raven haired angel whispered.
"Yeah yeah I know... phew your a riot kid! We where gonna accept ya either way us freaks gotta stick together but now! You agreed to work for free you fucking idiot! Bwahahah" goon now on their back laughing and pointing at the two kids.
"Ah yes welcome to phantasm.... It's one hell of a ride" marama said darkly
"Ah... ha yay.... Well uhm I'm valentine and this is my brother Eddie..." Val said fiddling with her hands looking away embarrassed.
"But my friends call me panther! So what's your deal clown dude! Your show was pretty sick for a smucka in a clown costume" Eddie teased slightly shining his ruined teeth.
"Oh mar mar I like this one he has spunk! Hahaha well well well you boy are having a drink with me I'll fill ya in~" goon wrapped their arm around Eddie's scrawny neck pulling him to their Make shift bar leaving the two girl alone
Valentine who is on the cusp of a panic attack sheepishly looked up at marama and all her nerves escaped her body looking at the woman's magnificent wings covering her face and as if in a trance Val reaches her silky chocolate hand forward to gently graze those beautiful wings which was ripped away from her when soft slender fingers wrap around her wrist and with a small gasp Val backs away from the angelic creature.
"I- I am so sorry miss I I didn't mean to touch" Val quickly apologize backing away
But with calm eyes marama let out a small giggle which she covered with her mouth and her posture softens to the girl.
"Oh how familiar... it's quite alright my dear... now may I know why you want to join our circus" marama crosses her arms looking down at the girl.
"Oh uh yes! I I want to be a clown l-like mx. goon! I want to bring joy like that to people!" Val said happily her eyes sparkling happily at the older woman.
"Ahhh... they are going to eat you alive young one" was all marama said before walking away smiling wickedly.
