Mei leaned against the trunk of a large cherry tree, watching as a few of the blossoms danced in the wind. She attempted to catch one of them on their way down, but the light breeze blew them away.

"There you are." Kojuro spoke, catching the young woman off guard and caused her to lose her balance, falling onto her behind. "Lord Masamune was looking for you."

"Ko-chan! You scared me." Mei whined. Kojuro shook his head, continuously unamused with her 'affectionate' nickname for him.

He offered her a hand up, and Mei gladly accepted it. Before he could bring her back to her feet, Mei mustered her strength and dragged him down with her, laughing all the while. Kojuro landed next to Mei, with a face full of dirt to match what ended up on her behind.

"There we go!" Mei laughed. She laid down flat next to Kojuro, resting her hands behind her head, legs crossed at the ankle. "It's no good to worry all the time, Ko-chan."

"Noted." The bite behind his words didn't slip by Mei; but her retort was lost as a strong gust of wind rustled the trees, taking a large quantity of sakura petals with them.

"Beautiful, isn't it, Ko-chan?" Mei whispered, sighing dreamily.

"Yeah." He whispered back, watching as the petals danced in the wind.

"Lord Masamune still needs you, though."

"Way to ruin the mood, Ko-chan."

🌟~🌟~🌟

Originally Mei referring to Kojuro as "Ko-chan" was supposed to be something she only does in Modern AU's, but I think it's cute so it's staying

Mei's Sengoku BASARA counterpart has a pretty similar point of origin as her Samurai Warriors version. Both Mei's are based on Otome troupes, but the main difference between them is that SW!Mei is more like a traditional Otome MC, where as SenBasa!Mei is more like the MC's found in the localization of Cybird's Otome's or an Indie one. She's carefree and charismatic, taking the world and all it's strides with wide eyes with just a little bit of sass to match. Although, she can be a bit shrewd, and can barter for the very clothes on your back before leaving you to wonder what just happened. A bit like a cat, in a way

Her weapon is a duel headed glaive (a type of European polearm) and her Element is Ice. I originally listed her Element as wind, but later changed it to Ice to match Itsuki so she wasn't stepping to much on Matsu's toes. Being a woman using a polearm and all

Initially the daughter of a merchant from Mino, Mei was out traveling when her family and community where burned to the ground by Oda Nobunaga. After returning home and finding out what had happened, Mei kept the memory of her family alive as she took the business to the open road, stopping in towns to sell her wares and making a friend or two along the way (Keiji. That friend is Keiji).

She reached Yonezawa's castle down during the dead of night, going off the beaten path and accidently finding herself right in Kojuro's private garden while he was tending to it. After clearing up the misunderstandings (she was armed after all), Kojuro sent her on her way and didn't expect to see her again. Until she came knocking down the castle doors, asking to join him and Masamune on their quest to conquer the land! Masamune liked her spunk, but thought that the battlefield was no place for a lady with little to no practical combat experience, so she was assigned to remain at the castle and protect it under the guidance of the other Onna-Bugeisha and Kojuro's elder sister Kita while he and the others were away

That was the plan anyway, but sometimes a horse goes missing from the stables, and sometimes the enemy will mutter about the woman on the battlefield, but everyone in the Date Camp usually knows who that woman is before they even see her
