Mr. Satan glared as Gohan bit into one of the flower-cut shaped fruits. Videl was a few hours late. The servants and Mr. Satan's wife had already eaten and gone to bed.

"You disgust me." Mr Satan growled, sulking in his chair. He watched Gohan use both hands to shove food into his mouth, seeming to grow hungrier with each bite. Mr. Satan's eyes widened. The polite, meek teenager was steadily being replaced by a starving, manner less, wild boy.

"Uhh...maybe you should chew?" Mr. Satan suggested after Gohan swallowed a massive fish the size of the table, bones and all.

Gohan belched, wiped his mouth with the back of his hand, muttering," Excuse me," then continued to eat. Mr. Satan cautiously removed his hands from the table and safely out of Gohan's reach. Within minutes, all the food that could've fed at least a dozen people was reduced to crumbs. Almost nothing was left.

Gohan clapped his hands together." I'm sorry I couldn't wait any longer! I really tried! Do you think Videl will be mad I didn't save her anything to eat?"

Mr. Satan blinked. He'd never seen a person eat so much in his entire life!

Is this boy even human? For a second there, I thought he was going to start eating me next! Mr. Satan coughed." Oh, I'm sure she'll be very mad when she gets home, but it's her fault for not getting here on time. Well, I guess I'll stand by the front door and wait for my little girl to come home..."

"Okay," Gohan innocently blinked." I'll join you."

. + . + . + . + .

Gohan stared up at the night sky while Mr. Satan glared at him, seated on a plastic lawn chair near one of the rose bushes. It was past midnight. Videl hadn't so much as called or texted her father. Mr. Satan feared that she had gotten hurt while doing community service for the police, or was out with a boy, or was being held for ransom somewhere, or. . . maybe this was the day that Videl decided she didn't need her father anymore, and would never come back. A thousand horrific possibilities played in his head, but it looked as if Videl's new wimpy, stargazing husband couldn't care less.

"You could at least pretend like you're worried," Mr. Satan grumbled.

Gohan glanced down at his father in law, then back at the stars. The night sky in Satan City was different from the one back at home in Mt. Paozu. There seemed to be the same overwhelming number of stars, but they were different somehow. At home they just looked prettier.

Gohan closed his eyes as he concentrated, then opened them a few moments later. He smiled. " You don't have to worry about Videl, sir. I'm positive she's alright."

"What, are you some type of psychic now?" Mr. Satan sighed, putting no real weight into the boy's words." Videl sure did pick a winner," he thought sarcastically. There was no doubt in his mind that his son-in-law was weird. "If you're tired, just go to bed. There's no need to make up such stupid excuses."

"But I'm not—"

"I don't want to hear anymore excuses!" Mr. Satan smirked." Go on, go to bed wimpy boy. It's past your bedtime. If Videl had married a strong man like I wanted her to, then he'd be out there finding my daughter for me, and I'd be inside the house laying next to my new hot wife. But no, she chose you, so it's up to me to make sure my little girl gets home safe and sound, even if that means sacrificing the night I could've shared with my hot wife." Mr. Satan took out a cigar from his robe's pocket and lit it.

Gohan's fists trembled at his sides. Arguing or defending himself would be pointless. To some extent, Mr. Satan was right, he was a wimp. He'd basically stopped training since Goku died. He was nowhere near as strong as he used to be. He only had to endure Mr. Satan's hatred for four years, maybe three years if he studied hard enough, then he could divorce Videl. Until then he just had to get used to Mr. Satan's insults.
