Nessa walked into the cemetery, searching for her girlfriends headstone. She held a bouquet of flowers in her hand, holding them tightly as the wind blew harshly.
Once she stumbled upon the headstone, she placed the flowers right on top, tears trembling down her face, her nose turning red from the cold.
"I miss you Vani... I wish I could take your place, you were such a great person. I love you baby." Nessa sniffled, wiping the dead leafs off of the photo of Avani's face on the stone.Nessa shot out of her sleep. Tears rolled down her face. You see, Avani wasn't even Nessa's girlfriend. She was her best friend.
Nessa had been having these vivid dreams lately and they were tearing her apart. She reached her for phone to check the time to make sure she had time to get ready for school.
6:23.
She had almost a whole hour to shower and change into her uniform. Yes, uniform. Once Nessa had came out to her family they sent her to a completely Christian, all girl's school... Which isn't much help.
Avani doesn't go to that school though. She had great, cool parents. But luckily they lived close or else everything would just fall apart. Nessa left an extra 30 minutes early, just so she meet Avani.
Avani always walks Nessa to the bus stop. "I'll be here at 2:45 like always." Avani smiled and hugged her best friend before walking back to her own bus stop a few streets over.
Nessa got onto the bus and sat in the back. She really didn't have friends in this school. Nessa wasn't all for an all girl's school.
She missed her friend Jaden, and now he won't respond to her messages because she's attracted to girls.
Once the bus stopped at the school Nessa trotted off and made her way to bible study and prayers. She dreaded this everyday. She couldn't wait until her 18th birthday. She was ready to move away from her dreadful parents.
After school she was dropped off at the bus stop, but she didn't see Avani sitting on the bench waiting. Instead she saw Avani in a black BMW.
She got into the passenger seat and looked at Avani.
"isn't it sweet? My parents got it for me." Avani smiled.
"Yeah. Your parents are so cool. I'm jealous." "Wanna rebel your parents to come to a party? You can tell them you're studying with me and my imaginary boyfriend."
Nessa thought about it for a long while and nodded.
"When I drop you off just tell them that a group of you Christian friends are coming over to my house and study and a sleep over."
Avani and Nessa smiled deviously before Nessa hugged Avani.
"If they say yes I'll just walk over. Love ya." Nessa hugged her best friend and went into the house.
"Hi mom. Where's dad?" Nessa innocently asked while sitting on the washer while her mom folded laundry.
"Double shift honey."
"Oh. Well, I was wondering if I could go study with a few of my friends from school. We were all gonna meet at Avani's house. It's also a sleep over."
Nessa hadn't been out of the house all month except to go to school so her mom figured it was time to trust her. "Yeah, I'm sure you'll behave yourself."
Nessa ran upstairs and began packing things into a backpack.
She really didn't have party-appropriate clothing so she texted avani.Avani
Heyyy v do you have anything I could wear to said party?
I'm pretty sure I do bubs
Hurry over
I wanna do ur makeupKk thx
Love you bubsLove ya too
Nessa beamed at the messages and grabbed her bag, bolting down the stairs to say goodbye to her mom.
"Going to Avani's. Love ya bye!" Nessa shrieked, her heart pumping.
She walked quickly to Avani's house and went inside, greeting Avani's parents before hand.
"Bubs cmon!" Avani said while pulling the girl into the bathroom.
"I don't think this is a good idea. What if my-"
Avani quickly hushed the girl.
"Stop overthinking it. You'll be 18 in nine months. Who cares."
