She smiled and then looked down at her clipboard. Her smile slowly faded and she looked up at me.

"Please be okay, Issa.

Please be okay."

I said in my mind.
----------
Ally's POV
"Oh, honey...I'm sorry but he didn't make it." She said, patting me on the back.

"Oh, will I at least be able to see him? You know, look at him one last time...?" I asked, tears beginning to form in my eyes.

"Of course, dear. Follow me." She said, beginning to walk away, as I followed.

"Here we are." She said, letting me in and then leaving.

I looked at him.

I looked at his face.

His body.

His dead body that I will never be able to talk to again.

"Issa...why?" I said, beginning to cry and hug him, wishing that my hopefulness would somehow bring him back to life.

"PLEASE WAKE UP!" I screamed, shaking him and hoping he would wake up.

I soon heard running and then saw the same nurse.

"I'm sorry, visiting hours are over. We will still have him here tomorrow for everyone else to visit if you want to stop by." She said, giving me a little hug and then leaving.

I looked at Issa one last time for the day, and did something that I've waiting to do since I met Issa.

I kissed him on the cheek.

"Goodbye." I said, walking out of the room.

I got in my car and drove to Issa's house. He lives alone with a dog, the poor thing must be waiting for him to come home.

I went to the door, and saw a car in the driveway and the lights on inside...hm...

I decided to ring the doorbell, since there might be someone inside, you never know.

Someone answered the door and asked,

"Who are you?"

"I'm Issa's friend, sorry you weren't expecting me." I replied.

"It's okay, come in!" The kind man said as he held the door open for me. I walked inside and hung up my coat.

"I'm Issa's father, and this is his mother." The man said, pointing to a lady who was cooking.

"Hi, what brings you here?" She asked kindly.

"Well, actually, I don't know if you've heard..." I said, trailing off and feeling bad that they didn't know about the accident yet.

"What? Is Issa okay?" They asked, looking a bit frightened.

"We were supposed to have a date tonight. Issa was going to pick me up around 6:45, but never showed up. I decided to drive here to see what happened, and on the way saw a smashed car and another car that was flipped over and smoking. Issa must've gotten into a car crash, because he was being loaded into the ambulance. I got to go with him, and waited over 8 hours for his emergency surgery to be finished. He didn't make it, he's dead. I drove here to see if his dog was okay, because I didn't want him to be home alone with no food. I'm sorry you have to hear about it from me, like this." I said with a sigh.

"Oh, we're sorry that you went through all of this. Do you know if they'll have visiting hours tomorrow?" His mother asked me.

"Yes, they will. I was planning to go as well, if you need a ride there." I said politely. They accepted my offer and said that they were supposed to meet Issa here for dinner, but I guess he never showed up.

"Well, we've got to go. Would you like to meet here at maybe, 11 in the morning?" His mother asked. I nodded and asked,

"Should I take Turbo with me?"

"Oh, yes, if you don't mind. His food is in the closet." Issa's father said. I nodded and said goodbye, then packed up all of Turbo's items.

"Turbo, come here buddy!" I called for him.

I heard his little footsteps come towards me, so I gave him a hug then put him on a leash. Soon after, we walked to my car. I loaded Turbo's food and other items in the trunk, then put Turbo in the front seat with a blanket. He laid down, and I drove home.

When we got home, I found Hallie's other dog bed and put it in my room. I let a Turbo sleep there for the night. (Hallie is her dog's name)

Once both of the dogs were asleep, I set up Turbo's food and such near Hallie's. When I was done, I got some ice cream out of the freezer and put it in a bowl.

I went to my room and slowly ate it, crying myself to sleep.

I miss Issa.

I miss him a lot.

-the next day-
I awoke to Turbo and Hallie sniffing my hair and licking my face.

"Oh, sorry you guys. I probably should've fed you by now." I said, jumping out of bed.

I filled both Hallie and Turbo's food and water bowls, then washed my hands. After that, I decided to eat some lucky charms.

I got dressed into a blue skater skirt with a white tee shirt and some black combat boots. I then grabbed a small white purse and headed out the door.

I drove to Issa's house, and saw his parents' car there. Hopefully I'm not late. I parked in the driveway and walked inside.

"Hello, I'm sorry am I late?" I asked her parents.

"No not at all! We were just baking some cookies, which are now done. Here, take a seat." His mother said, offering me a chair as the oven beeped.

"Thank you. Would you like to get going now or later on?" I asked them.

"Let's go now, just so we don't miss visiting hours. The cookies are in this tin, so you can eat some in the car." His mother said.

I thanked her for the newly baked cookies, which were very warm, and led both Issa's mom and dad to my car.

I drove off to the hospital, anxious to see if Issa miraculously came back to life. Somehow my heart thought it was possible, even though my mind was telling me it wasn't.

We walked up to the front desk and asked where Issa was. The same nurse from the other day came and brought us to him.

"We're so sorry he didn't make it, and we have to clear the room today so more patients can come in. Do you have a funeral home in mind?" The nurse asked.

No, this can't be happening.

This can't be happening.

"Please, isn't there anything you could to do make him live again? Keep him on life support longer or perform surgery again? Maybe give cpr or use those two iron things that shock someone? PLEASE!" I yelled as I began to cry.

"I'm sorry but we have to unplug him." The nurse replied, as she began to reach for the plug.

"No"

She reached further for it.

"No, please"

She had it in her hand.

"No, please no!"

I kept shouting and pleading, hoping that she wouldn't unplug him from life support, but,

I was too late.
