I woke up in a daze. The last thing I remembered was Leo tucking me into bed. I guess sleep really caught up to me, since we got here I've been too busy thinking about my life, could it have been a lie? I sighed I desperately needed something to soothe my mind, perhaps a cold drink. Looking around I realized I was in a boy's room, my heart thumped wildly thinking of scenarios as to what could've happened. It'd only been a day since I arrived here and I'm already stressing.
Creak
I jumped up slightly, and saw that it was only the sound of the door. My racing heart settled slightly. Leo was at the door holding a tray, with breakfast. I took a peek at the clock on the bedside table. It was already lunch time. I then glanced at Leo in confusion.
"It's lunch time," I could feel a smile creeping upon my lips, " why are we having breakfast?" A small giggle escaped my lips.
"Well I thought you'd like breakfast for lunch," he paused briefly a small tint of pink on his cheeks "besides I made it specially for you."
My smile widened as he set the tray down across my lap. I licked my lips as I starred down at the mouth watering food. Leo had cut chocolate chip pancakes into shapes, with bacon and toast with butter. It looked delicious! I punctured a piece of pancake with my fork and brought it to my lips, taking a chunk of it into my mouth. I took bite after bite. The chocolate chips were melty in my mouth and it's sweet taste woke me up in an instant. The bacon was just right, not too crunchy. I devoured my meal, and was sure that I looked like a child.
"Leo this is amazing!" I beamed at him with a wide grin. He smiled a small smile back at me and held a glass of orange juice for me. I gladly took it and sipped slowly. I didn'twant to risk getting a stomach ache.
"You sure were hungry." He chuckled, gathering the tray in both hands. I stopped him before he could leave.
"No, let me it's the least I could do since you let me stay here and you cooked for me!"
Leo shook his head slightly. "You're always so stubborn. Even when we were little." He muttered, walking out of the room ignoring my pleas.
I followed behind him, pouting like a little two year old that just got their candy taken away. Without hesitation I held onto the back of his white v-neck shirt. He stopped to knowledge me, giving me a look that meant 'what's wrong now?'. Not sure of what had come over me I hugged him from behind. Inhaling his sweet scent, that somehow felt comforting and safe. The look in his eyes gave a hurt expression. Maybe I did something to offend him.
He swiftly turned around, hugging me back with one hand, holding the tray in the other. His breath hitched slightly. Something about him seemed uneasy, like he was scared.
Maybe even frightened of my touch. Of my presences. Of me. The things that I could do, that not even I myself had knowledge of.
"We should get ready for the day. There's a lot to do today." Leo stated, backing away hurriedly, waking away as I stood in the hall.
Of course he must've felt awkward after the whole situation. I'd gotten ready with makeup, and all....just to be avoided by Leo in the end. He was supposed to help me regain my memories. Instead he scurried off to god knows where.
I sighed sitting in the beautifully decorated kitchen. It'd only been about an hour since the awkward hug. I was starting to feel more uneasy than ever.
Ricky entered the kitchen, almost startled to see me sitting there. "What're you doing here?"
"I'm not too sure anymore." I answered sounding slightly disappointed. "Leo was supposed to help me remember, but he seems to have disappeared."
"Ahhh, Leo's just having a hard time. With you being back now, I'm sure it's bringing back old feelings. What happened to you really hit us all hard."
Ouch, I thought to myself. I guess it really is a lot harder for them. I don't remember anything. "Well...I'm the one whose not sure what my life really was."
"True." Ricky said calmly, pouring himself a glass of milk. A batch of cookies were made, and I hadn't acknowledged them being too drowned in my thoughts.
The whole time just wondering. Had my brother known? Is this why dad left? Because he couldn't handle lying to me? I was at a lost. I hopped down from where I was sitting, only to fall flt on the ground.
Thunk
"Belle! You okay?" Ricky rushed over to the other side of the island counter. Kneeling down to see my face, and feel across my forehead. A tiny cut was on my head, nothing too serious. Nothing my clumsy self hadn't already been through because I wasn't paying attention.
"I'm fine Ricky, stop being a dummy." I felt my head, blood. I wrinkled my nose. "Just get me a band-aid in the drawer."
Ricky got up, then stopped. "How'd you know where the band-aids were?"
"They've always...." I stopped been sentence. I knew. I remembered. "Oh my gosh...I think...I think hitting my head got me to....remember?" I looked up at the ceiling in shock, this was such a cliche. I should've hit my head years ago. I sat up slowly.
This was it. This is where I start to regain everything, Really know..every little thing.
