Chapter 7: New Changes

I ran up the slope to be greeted by Eric and Sage. "What happened?" They asked. "Good news, I was able to befriend the commander of that town, Bad news, people are about to get their bones broken". I told them. "Say wha-"Sage said just when I interrupted "No time to waste, we need to alert the people of the good news". The the three of us quickly ran to the city, I was going to announce this to the remaining of my empire. "Gather the men, tell them there is an announcement." I ordered the two. They split into two, going in separate ways. I went up the town plaza balcony, waiting for the people to gather. After a while not too long people started gathering in the square. Soon when many people were there, Sage ran up to me "That's all of them" he said exhausted. I began my speech with "Now all of you might be wondering, why are we gathered here this moment?, Well, I have good news and bad news for all of you. Good news is, I was able to form an alliance with another empire who also was beaten by Chaos people. She promised that she can train each one of you in close combat, Bad news is that you might break your bones in the process. All of you will gather, wear your armor and bring your weapons. We will go to an underground village not to far from here. And with that the announcement is done!" I went down the plaza/bar and waited in front so that everyone can form a line and follow me. After waiting they gathered and I raised my hand and formed a fist. It was a gesture which tells people to form a line. "Follow me!" I said clearly so that everyone could hear me. I marched down the tunnel and the army did as well. When we reached the slope, I gestured my army to stay here. I slid down the slope just like I did before and when I reached the gate, the guards just let me through, and winked with a friendly smile. I went to the center, turned left and knocked on the door normally. The same person as before opened it. "Welcome back Sir!" He greeted warmly. I smiled back at him and went to the door that still said DO NOT DISTURB. Before I could knock the door swung open with Scarlett there. "My men are already gathered just outside this city, but I am afraid that there will not be enough space for the training." I told her. "Don't worry I'm having the town cleared, it also has training grounds you know" she said. "When can we start?" "How 'bout now?" She asked "Sure just let me call them." She was already wearing her armor and she went to the training grounds." Oh just so you know the training area is right from here." And with that she left. Well I went out to the gates telling the guards that she allowed them to pass. "Your training will begin, you can come down now." I told them. The guards opened the gate and one by one they slid down the slope starting to form a line again. I showed them the way and they followed me to the training grounds.

Scarlett's POV
As Spear's men were gathering in a row in front of me I was preparing my speech. As he told me that was all of them I hopped off the fence I was sitting on. I was ready to give a speech. "Now I bet all of you know why your here" I said walking right to left. "You will start your training starting now and ending umm....... Never!" I said as if I were their boss. "Now many of you know how to fight properly. But with your scrawny muscles, bet you can't even punch me!" I said teasing them. "What do you mean we're scrawny? We're the equal of Giants!",one of them said confidently. "Oh you mean those DUMB beasts?" I shot back at him. "Well you know what I mean! I can bruise you easily!"he said still refusing to accept the fact that I was better than him. "If so why don't you try punching me?" I said "With pleasure" he said charging at me. I waited for him to get closer. When he was close enough, he threw out his fist, then quickly I moved aside, sticking my foot out and tripping him and I kicked him at the last moment. "What do you mean by bruise, exactly?" I said stepping on his back. "See what I mean? It's that easy for you guys to fall down! Any other volunteers ?" I asked. "No ma'am" everyone else said, hiding their fear. "Now get up!" I said to the man I was stepping on the whole time. I put my foot off his back, then he tried to stand up and I quickly kicked the back of his knee quickly so no one could see. And he fell again. "Gather some thick sticks! We will use for your next training!" I said "As for you" I said pretending to punch the the annoying guy " I have other plans" I pretended to punch him quickly, it scared him and he ran away like a girl. I laughed so hard when he ran.

My POV
When I left the soldiers to train with Scarlett I went to the blacksmith to create a machete so I can increase the speed of me killing a monster. "Under approval of General Scarlett." I said to the blacksmith in charge, showing him a signed paper.(it's different from the other one). I learned how to make a sword when I used to work for my uncle. I got fine metal and tongs and started hammering it vey hard. Every time it glowed red I dipped it in water and started hammering it again. I like to over do things so it will be better than good.

Scarlett's POV
As the soldiers were gathering their sticks I got hungry. I went to the town food service and got an apple and some grapes. I went back to the training grounds, eating the fruits. By the time I got there I finished everything "Aww there all gone" I said to myself. I went back to the food service again this time I brought two apples and ran to the training grounds and by the time I got there, they already each had a stick. "What took you so long?" I asked them "What took YOU so long?" a guy in front asked. I threw my finished Apple at him "No one questions me alright?" I told them. No one answered " I said ALRIGHT?!!" "Yes ma'am !" They said getting scared like babies. ""Very well then!" I said changing my emotions as if nothing happened. "Now you put that apple on your head!" I told the guy that I threw the apple at. "Yes ma'am." Oh how I love playing with these toys. I pulled out a bow from my back and an arrow from my quiver and shot the apple clean of his head. " Now today as I said earlier, close combat will be your main lesson, in today's training you will learn how to strike your opponent without getting hurt. In other words, Hit your opponent without him/her countering your attack. Someone give me a stick" as ordered someone threw a stick at me. "You there, come forward." I said pointing at a random person. "Don't be afraid I'm not going to hurt you." He came forward. "Now try
hitting me with your stick." He used his stick like a spear, he stroke straight forward. I blocked it with my stick, waving it downwards then I twisted it upwards. His arms were getting twisted "Well don't end your attack there!" I told him. He pulled back hits stick and raised it and whacked it down. I blocked it by raising my stick horizontally, and in the process, breaking his stick. The broken piece flew back, hitting his face. "I didn't hurt you, you hurt yourself. This is another example of being weak. Now with the remaining time we have till sunset, you guys will pair up and train together. Clear?!" I told them clearly . "Yes ma'am!!". With that I left to go find James. I found him in the blacksmith

My POV
I finished making my machete. It was sharp and smooth. I started sharpening it more and that's why I when Scarlett came to me." What happened to the training?" I asked. "If I train then myself, you no longer will have an army" she laughed. "Well you know what they say : what doesn't kill you makes you stronger" I said sliding a stone against my machete. "Your sword looks nice" she said. "My Uncle is the one you should give credit to, he taught me almost everything I know right now. But now he has gone missing." I said remembering the time I spent with my uncle. "I'm sorry to hear that. Well my dad died, now I take his place as a commander." she said. "Well, people really go through tough times." I said. "Yeah." Anyways while I was sharpening my machete a messenger came to us. "It's already sunset ma'am." He told Scarlett. "Well time for hunting!" I said excited
