Chapter 3: Scouting Mission

During my free time when I'm not in the library, I usually scout/patrol the area because you know I'm very curious about the region. That's why I usually stay in my library, I read about history. The area I was in was the forest, home to different creatures and plants. I didn't come alone, I brought with me my best warriors. Eric was a castle archer I depend on in serious battles, Sage was my friend, a shadowwrath black belt. I also brought along Mary a meric. She is a professional in healing. It was always her dream to be a doctor but life made her more religious. I myself am a spearton but I don't really go into battle. Spear is just my code name in war. My real name is Jaime. My friends call me names all the time. Anyways in the forest were redwood trees and many carnivorous giant man eating plants. We encountered many but they were not a problem. We did go very deep in to the forest. As we walked carefully, Eric was drawing a map in case we got lost. There was a path on the forest, well it seemed like it. The leaves were separated and the trees were somehow aligned. There were scratches and burn marks along the way, Sage thought this was caused when the Gods punished the people who did bad things to the forest. At the end of the "path" were a group of trees that made a fork in the road. We followed the brighter path, the right. We stuck together making sure that we didn't get separated. For long we walked forward until we encountered a crawler eating what seemed like a carcass of a crawler. It spotted us but Eric shot it down on the spot. With a very high-pitched screeched it died but this was bad, but not really for us. It alerted its whole pack. Erick climbed up a tree just before a wave of crawlers came. Every time the crawlers jumped at me I pierced what ever was near their heads, killing them on the spot."They don't call me General for nothing.:P" I said sarcastically. Sage kept bouncing them away and sometimes piercing them with his favorite sword 'Endeavor' he called it. He also loved stabbing things quickly with his knife which he sometimes throws it. He also loved jumping along with the creatures. While Eric was sniping each crawler one by one, Mary did a great support although she wasn't fast. After every body was slain, we rested for a while then proceeded. Not very for was a waterfall and at the bottom was ice? It was weird because temperatures don't drop till a few months and it's very hot these days. We didn't really mind it but it was very weird. We made a stop there. Mary did know a spell of purification so she did on the water just to make sure it was safe. Well we drank water and we continued on walking just to find out something else weird there were scorch marks and a hole in the ground. By the looks of it, it just happened recently and it looked like there was a little lava inside. Another thing is that there are no volcanoes in the area. We headed back to the castle, sort of my castle. I told the magikill about it. "Well it does sound very familiar." they told me. "Familiar what do you mean?!" I was weirded out. One spoke up"There is a very old legend only known by natives" "Yes?"I raised my brow."A legend about the element creatures, they were here long before people were. They created the world with the Gods. As you know Inamorta is the only place int he world inhabited by people and-" "Wait wait so Inamorta isn't the only place in the world??"I was very surprised."It may be surprising but many people don't know about this so keep this a secret. Since we have to go already have this book it contains secrets of the world show this to no one now go fulfill your duties we are under attack go!" As I got the book I rushed to the castle gates keeping it in my chest. I locked it up I went up to the castle top only to see a stone statue of someone running away. Wait I recognized him. HE was the messenger of our castle. I sent some men to investigate it. As they ran outside I heard a rough female voice saying: "TOXICUS MADESEUS!" that was a spell only known to ..... Gorgons.......
