Hermione & Draco
3rd Year
After the punch landed, Malfoy ran like a coward. His two followers in his wake.
"That felt good." Hermio e smiled shyly.
"Not good, brilliant." Ron grinned.
Later that night while walking about the castle, Hermione was startled when a hand pulled her into a deserted classroom.
Draco felt something change in him since the firey brunette punched his nose. A burning sensation, like a passion. No matter how hard he tried, Draco could not get the know it all out of his head. He waited to get Hermikne alone.
"What do you want, Malfoy?"
"Your boldness impressed me. Never thought anyone would have the balls to punch me." Draco smirked.
"Is that all you wanted?"
"No, I wanted to apologize. I've been a prat and...that animal doesn't deserve to be executed because I didn't listen. I'll get the Minister to call off the execution under the condition you never tell anyone how it was done." Draco offered.
"Deal. Is this a truce, Malfoy?"
"Consider it as such. I must still be nasty to you in front of others. My father sees all my memories. But I've learned how to keep a few secrets from him." Malfoy smirked again.
Hermione sent him an appraising expression, "i agree to this too. My friends would hate to know I'm talking nice to a Slytherin."
"I always thought you were above the House prejudices."
"I am, my friends, are not."
"Very true." Draci nodded.
The pair ended their secret meeting with a short, but formal handshake.
4th Year
"You have ten seconds to uncover my eyes before I hex you till you can't reproduce." Hermione hissed
"Damn Granger, you're feisty...I love it." Passion dripped from Dracos voice.
"Malfoy?!" Hermione breathed in relief. She whirled qround to find the blonde looking a bit shy.
"I've heard no one has asked you to the ball yet. Oh and Weasel insults you about it." Draco added
Hermione released a humorless laugh, "kick me while I'm down? Grow up, would you?"
"Im trying! Hermione...will you go to the Ball with me?" Draco smiled.
Hermione smirked, "on the condition that we meet in the Great Hall after the first dance. Seek me out, I'll be wearing lavender."
"We are about to shock the school." Draco smirked
"Ron still thinks I'm partnerless."
Draco snorted, "he's an idiot yo not see your beautiful. With those chocolate brown eyes...and lucious curls."
Hermiobe giggled, "what about your father?"
"Oh I'm not living with my parents anymore. I told Mother. End of term, I'll be living with her eldest sister. The disowned sibling, Andromeda." Draco smiled. "I just got her owl saying I am able to live with her! That's why I asked you to the ball now. I didn't want to waste a second."
"Yes! I'm so happy for you, Draco."
"Im happy too....that hasn't happened in a long time. See you at the ball."

Hermione entered the ball and saw Ron smirking in her direction. She knew she had no one on her arm. At least not yet.
After the first dance, Ron approached her. "May I have this dance?"
"Sorry Ron, i already have a partner." Hermione smiled
"Na you don't. Why didnt you two appear together then?"
"Because we wanted to make a statement." A deep voice replied.
Ron turned to find Malfoy holding his hand out to Hermione.
"Draco, you look very nice." Hermione smiled taking Dracos outstretched hand.
"What?!" Ron shrieked.
"You look radiant compared to the other ladies here. Shall we?" Draco smirked barely acknowledging Ron.
"Yes, we shall." Hermione didn't spare a glance in Rons direction.
"I really meant that compliment, Granger."
Draco stated as their hands met one another."You look devilishly handsome. Oh and Ron looks as red as his hair. I know you love to wave it in his face that you always have the best things. Please don't wave me in his face, ok?" Hermione asked
Draco smlied widely, "ok Gryffindor Princess, your prince will do as you ask."
Hermione beamed, "I like you calling me Princess."
"Shh, no think tonight my hot tamale, tonight you dance with me. I have the best looking witch here." Draco whispered in her ear.
The two circled the room, and occasionally did Draco spin her. When the song moved from slow to punk rock, did Hermione drag her date to a table to rest.
"You are such a gentleman, but I'm getting a bit tired." Hermione admitted.
"I'll get us some punch, it'll taste better than the one you gave my face." Draco smirked.
"Haha." Hermione rolled her eyes.
Once their little break ended, Draco danced with her again and even gave Hermione a kiss.
Hermione smiled and left Dracos side to find her friends who to her surprise were sitting at a table sulking.
"Whats happened to you two?" Hermione asked
"Harry, did you hear someone talking? I thought it was my friend, but turns out to be a traitor!" Ron snarled
"Thats mature!" Hermiobe scoffed
"Ron, stop you're being cruel. Padma and Parvati didn't like that we don't dance." Harry explained
"Look, Harry why dont you ask Ginny? She loos like she needs a bit of rescuing." Hernione suggested
At that Harry brightened and ran off towards the redhead.
Hermione turned to Ron, "I did tell you I had a date. If you wanted to ask me, you should have and not as a last resort! You think I'm a traitor, but you are too. I've been a friend to you for years and all you do is mock me! At least Draco knows how to treat a lady like me. I know who I deserve and it's definitely not you." Hermione spat
"Hermione..." Ron sputtered
"Just leave me alone!" Hermione shrieked back causing everyone to stare at them. "You don't deserve me."
Suddenly applause errupted from the room starting with Draco. "Thats my princess!" He strode forward with his hand outstretched.
"That felt good." Hermione smiled taking Dracos hand.
"No, brilliant." Draco smirked before pulling the witch in for the last slow dance.
