Hermione × Luna

5th Year

After Hermione had set up the Skeeter interview with Harry, Luna began  to see the older witch differently.

"Hermione, want to get some butterbeer?" Luna smiled

"Ok."

The two friends walked to the Three Broomsticks lost in conversation.

"Ron can be so daft at times!" Hermione groaned

"Ive noticed he can be unkind. He's lucky to have you as a friend. As am I." Luna smiled shyly.

Hermione sucked in a breath. "Thank you Luna." To be truthful Hermione had developed a crush on the young blonde.

"Y-your welcome, Hermione." Luna sometimes felt like a dumb blonde whenever she and the brunette were alone.

"I've noticed you see the world in a different way. I'd like to talk more about that, if that's ok?"

"Um...sure Hermione. Maybe at the next Hogsmead trip?" Luna smiled.

"Brilliant!"

*

"Here Hermione!" Luna beamed when the brunette entered the Three Broomsticks.

Hermione smiled and seared herself across from Luna. "Hey!"

"What would you like to talk about?"

Hermione blushed, "I wanted an opportunity to get to know you more is all."

Lnas blue eyes widened in surprise. "Oh, there's not much to me. I uh...live with my dad, Zeno as he's known to his friends.y mother was an experimenter of spells. But she...passed when I was 8."

Hermiones jaw dropped, "Luna, Im so sorry. I can't imagine that."

"Ive learned to hold onto my family and cherish the time I have with them." Luna smiled

"There's a lot of wisdom to those words. You are one deep thinker. What are your plans for the future?"

"Healer, or magizoologist. Like Newt Scamander. I'm most interested in Threstles, the invisible beasts. Unless if you've seen death. They are bony, skeletal and dark flying horses." Luna explained

"Oh, I remember you telling Harry about that." Hermione stated.

"You do?" The blonde quirked an eyebrow at Hermione.

Hermione smiled playfully, "maybe...."

"I like you too Hermione. I can see us going amazing places together." Luna replied

"See? Are you a Seer?" Hermiones eyes widened

The blonde smirked playfully, "you know If I admit that I am, all interest in me will fly out the window, faster than a Snitch disappearing. I know it kills you to have a mystery here. But youll learn life can't always be planned to the letter. And visions, can still be changed if we have enough faith to change our fate.

"Huh?" Hermione cocked her head.

Luna chuckled,  "You look cute when you try to understand my kind of logic. The logic that defies your kind. I know you like me too, Hermione. Otherwise I never would have put my heart out there."

Hermione released a breathy moan and moved her chair so the witches were seated right next to one another.

"Luna..." Hermione breathed sounding husky.
