falling in love with your bestfriend of many years is normal, right?
this is about beth mead and vivianne miedema falling for one another while going through tough times of their own.
It's currently 7am and Viv and I need to be leaving by 8:30 for the both us to go to internationals. Both of our games are in England in preparation for the tournament and we'll be playing each other the last game before it.
Viv is currently still sleeping and i don't want to wake her up just yet. She's holding Flip very tightly, her childhood teddy bear. Seeming as i'm awake i've decided to make us both some breakfast in bed before we need to leave one another.
As a Yorkshire girl, i've convinced Viv that Yorkshire tea is the only tea people should drink so she's got them stocked up in her place. I put the kettle on and made my way over to cook some scrambled egg and avocado on toast. After finishing the meal, i made my way into the bedroom very slowly seeming as the tray of food and drinks were heavy. Before waking up Viv, i placed the tray on the side table and made my way over to her side. I slightly tapped her and she woke up instantly.
Beth: Good morning Viv: Good morning. How long have you been awake for? Beth: Only for about 30 minutes, i didn't want to wake you. I made us breakfast, your favourite. Viv: You're the cutest. Thank you.
Viv placed a kiss on my lips before we proceeded to eat our breakfast. After eating, we had a chat while drinking our cup of tea. Any moment with Viv is special but just being with her alone and feeling so safe with her, is a special feeling for me and i know it's the same with her too.
Viv's POV
It's 8:15 and it's almost time to leave. This feeling will never not hurt. It takes me back to when i was with Lisa and leaving her was always so difficult. Some days i would be late arriving at camp because i couldn't leave her without needing to hold her for a little while. It may be a different human, and we may not be together, but i'm getting the same vibes with Beth.
Beth has the responsibility to be filming for WePlayStrong during the Euros so she flipped the camera out. She filmed a little intro and i featured in it a little bit but i gave her a look and she knew i needed to just hold her before we both left so she put the camera down. I held her and for some reason we both began to cry.
Viv: I'm just going to miss you a lot. Beth: I'm going to miss you a lot more. Viv: This is giving me flashbacks and not the good kind. Beth: I was thinking the same thing. Viv: I can't wait to be seeing you again in a week. Beth: I'll be counting down the days love. Viv: Well it's that time again. Beth: Please can we stay for another 5 minutes and just hold eachother? Viv: But you're going to be late? Beth: And? I'll tell Sarina that the traffic was bad. Viv: Let's go cuddle on the sofa then mijn meisje.
The 5 minutes soon turned into being in each others arms for 20 minutes. Being with Beth just feels right and i just want to be with her at all times. Beth placed a kiss on my lips and then my cheek and we both agreed that it was best if we'd leave now. We had one last cuddle, one last kiss and we left.
Beth's POV
I drove to SGP in a weird mood. I was happy because i'm going to be back with the national team but leaving Viv just felt wrong. I was sad when i left her and she was sad. I practically had to leave so that she'd leave. I think we're both realising our feelings for one another and i think it can be hard to process them seeming as we've both known each other for so long but as friends and nothing more than that.
I soon arrived and was welcomed by the team and the media staff too. They mentioned the fact i was late and i had to lie saying about traffic. I texted Viv just to let her know i arrived safely and she did the same thing when she arrived at her camp. I miss her a lot already but i stop those thoughts about her and head to the team meeting. During the team meeting, i felt my phone buzz, it came through on my watch that it was Viv and she said it was an emergency so Sarina understood and let me go and call Viv.
Beth: Hey Viv what's wrong? Is everything okay? Viv: Hey Beth, i guess so. I've just hurt myself and i'm in a&e right now. Beth: Wait why? Which one are you in? Viv: It's nothing alarming don't worry, i've just had my scans and i think they're all clear, i just wanted to let you know. Beth: Where are you? Viv: Beth please don't worry i'm okay. Beth: Well you're clearly not okay if you're in hospital Vivianne. Viv: Beth calm down. I'm with the medics and it's all been cleared. I just wanted you to be with me but i didn't know if you'd be able to because i don't know your schedule. Beth: We don't have training till tomorrow, i could ask Sarina if i could come to you if you need me? Viv: No no i don't want you to fully leave the camp. I just know that when i'm with you i feel safe and it's just selfish that i'm thinking of me and not you. Beth: Viv if you need me i'll come visit. Just tell me your location and i'm on my way. Viv: Maybe don't leave camp but would you be able to facetime once you get back into your room? Beth: Yeah that's no issue. Just let me talk to Sarina and i'll facetime you. Viv: Thank you Beth. Love you. Beth: Love you lots Vivianne. Speak soon.
