001 | When Anger Strikes

Eden Upton's my name and I'm a care kid. I've been a care kid for 9 years 10 months and 15 days exactly, my birthday is September the 30th which means it's soon, we'll not technically soon but it's still not that far away. I don't know much about my parents; all I know is I was put into care when I was a baby, when I was 4 I was sent back to care after my foster parents found out they were having twins and they couldn't care for me so it was goodbye family, hello care home, since then I've been in 6 different care homes, I'm currently in my 6th, before I moved here to Elm Tree House I was fostered but that only lasted for 2 months because the other foster children continued to pick on me and they did what they thought was best for me, that was 2 years and 3 months ago so I've moved on since then. I don't think I want to get fostered again, nobody wants me anyway so why change that now.

Elm Tree house is where I finally found a family, not the family you would think but a family with all the kids and Gina and Mike, I feel safe here and it's where I belong, that's for sure.

My best friends are Lily and Tee and Liam and who has not long ago moved back to Elm Tree House because he pulled a scam and something happened with his foster parents too but that is in the past.

It was Wednesday, school holidays which means we don't have school, I don't mind school but I wouldn't say I like it either.

"What's going on!" I asked as I heard shouting outside my bedroom and went to look out.

"Someone has taken Poppy's favourite bracelet!" Lily shouted, this has happened before, Lily accused carmen. Lily, Rosie and Poppy were moving in with their foster parents in a few days and obviously I was happy for her but I would loose one of my best friends.

"Alright no need to shout at me" I said a little taken back.

"Sorry" lily apologised to me and I nodded a small nod.

"I'll help you look for it." I said calmly to Lily who smiled a small smile while I shut my door.

"I'll go and ask Tee if she's seen Poppy's bracelet" I told Lily before heading to Lily's room.

"Hey Tee" i said as I poked my head into her room.

"Hi Edie." Tee answered

"This is probably a weird question coming from me but I said to Lily I'd help her look. Have you seen Poppy's favourite bracelet? Lily thinks someone's taken it" I said with a sigh as I stepped into my friends room.

"Are you accusing my sister of taking Poppy's bracelet!?" Johnny practically shouted which made me jump and caused my heart rate spike, shouting often freaked me out

"I was just asking if she's seen it. I wasn't accusing anyone of taking anything. I was just helping Lily out" I said calmly. I knew myself too well, if I got wound up I would probably lash out, been their and done that a few times.

"So Your accusing her?" Johnny said and I rolled my eyes.

"Well... answer me.!" Johnny practically shouted as he pushed me back, I lost my footing slightly as I hit the wall but quickly I found my footing again and shoved him away.

"You didn't hear me did you! I am not accusing Tee. Now take a chill pill!" I growled in annoyance but that didn't stop the argument, or the whole thing ending in a fight.

"Your such a prat!" I shouted punching Johnny angrily

"And Your a stupid little girl who is always accusing people of things! You always ask Tee if she's seen things. Stop accusing her of being a theft!" Johnny shouted as he tried to fight me off, I happened to be stronger than him though, you wouldn't think it would be that way when I'm younger than him, I'm 9.
