We stayed at Pop's for hours. We talked about lots of things. For example, crazy things that happen to us, dangerous things, funny things and some personal things.the only thing that was off the table was family. didn't say it out loud but was inquired. we could tell if family was brought into anything, it could ruin the mood. when they did get brought into the conversation, then the other would just change the subject. when we were done eating. we started to grab my things and headed outside to walk around with Jughead. after a small portion of silence, Jughead poke up.

"Wouldn't things be much simpler if we didn't have parents," he said, gazing at the sky. "Of course it would," I began. "their the root of most of my problems." "No arguing with you there," he agreed. I got bored so I decided to take out my camera and take some pictures of the outdoors. trees, squirrels, leaves, sidewalks, and even Jughead. "what are you taking pictures for?" he asked. "My portfolio for college," I told him. I could hear him laugh like I was joking. "Why do you want to worry about college now? That's years away," he smiles. "College is sooner than you think, Jones," I replied.

I took another picture of him. He laughed and tried to grab my camera. A moved it out of the way and started to run. But suddenly I was pulled. I realized Jughead had pulled me by my hood to stop me but a little too hard. In a few seconds we were face to face. Only centimeters away from each other. The only thing in my view were his blueish green eyes and his soft peach lips. He slowly started to get go of me and we walked ignoring what just happened. I continued in the same manner as before. We walked around talking some more. When I'd realized that we circled the block at least twice, Jughead offered to take me somewhere more interesting.

After we walked some way out of town, we headed into the woods. We walked for sometime. When there was silence between us, I could hear something like a crack go off. I jumped slightly and stayed in place, closing my eyes. "Hey Evans, are you alright?" Jughead asked, I couldn't see anything but darkness, but I could tell he was coming closer to me with the crunch of the leaves. I could feel a warmth in my shoulders and slowly opened my eyes.

"I'm sorry about that," I chuckled nervously. He rubbed my shoulder slightly then moved his hand down with mine. We both started to run in any direction. I didn't really know where we were going so I was just following Jughead's lead. Then after a while of turning we stopped at the body of water. It almost looked like the part of Sweetwater River where the cops were investigating. "Where are we Jones?" I asked, taking in the beautiful sensory.

"This is another part of Sweetwater River," he explained. I looked over to see that Jughead was staring right back at me. "Thank you Jones," I said. I started to look down at both of our hands which were still intertwined. I started to blush a bit at the thought of some guy holding my hand. I started to look back at the river in all its glory. It wasn't completely still water. There was a current flowing to one side of the river. It seemed like if anything would drop in the river then it would go with the current.

For a second it gave me an idea. "Hey Jones," I said, staring back at him again. "Where is the search party set up for Jason's body?" "A little bit west of here, why?" He asked, locking eyes with me. I grabbed his hand even tighter. "Come on, follow me," I said, running and dragging him along with me. "Where are we going?" Jughead asked, gasping for breath. "To the cops pop up tent," I replied, running out of breath as well. "The current of the river would have taken the body to the other side of the river. They're looking in the wrong place." "So what means Jason's body is somewhere east," Jughead said, finishing my  sentence. When we arrived at the site, we went straight to go find my dad.

When we reached the tent, instead of finding my dad we saw Sheriff Keller filling out some paperwork. "Sheriff Keller," I said, stopping at the desk out of breath. "The current." "What about the current Kathrine?" He asked me to take off some reading glasses. "The current should have taken the body east. You need to move your working sight," I told him. He stood up from his chair and looked at me. At this point Jughead and my hands were too sweaty and we couldn't hold hands."Kathrine, even if you're right, we would have to ask the Blossoms and the statue to move our source of operation. That is going to take days to get approved," he said, even disappointed in his own answer.

"But Sheriff," Jughead tried to say. "I'm sorry kids, it's a good theory but we don't have that kind of time," he confessed. After what the Sheriff said, Jughead and I started to walk into town disappointed about the answer we received. "What does he mean 'not enough time' the kid is already dead," Jughead said, kicking a rock down the road. "I know I hate it too," I told him. "So are you ready for your first day of school tomorrow tomorrow," he said, trying to change the subject.

"Well I'm a bit nervous but other than that I'm fine," I told him. When I looked up at him there was a question in his mind he didn't want to ask. But by the way he didn't have eye contact with me I could tell what the question was. "Are you wondering why I froze in the woods?" I tried to confirm. "Yeah," he mumbled. "Family," I said blatantly. "Specifically my mom." I started to look down at the ground as well. Jughead stopped in his tracks and locked his eyes on me. "I'm sorry for whatever happens with your mom," he said. I gave him a small fake smile to signal that I was alright. "Yeah me too."
