Everything changed after that night and morning, Mix woke up confused to see that he was laying on a comfy bed instead of the bean bag chair. He was sure that after Earth had finally slept soundly and not with any grimace on his face, Mix had retired exhausted to the first thing he could lay on, that being the bean bag chair.
Instead, here he was covered with one of the fluffiest and most comfortable blankets he ever felt, there was no doubt about what had happened.
The answer became clear enough as Earth looked a lot better Mix noted relieved came into the room armed with two mugs filled with coffee in his hands as well as an apologetic smile.
Mix had never experienced seeing Earth this serious before, he was used by now to the teasing side of him and even the worried side of him, but he had never experienced this look before.
Gratitude and awe were painted all across Earth's face and Mix genuinely was speechless at the look Earth was giving him as he sat beside him.
That was the first time that Earth had thanked him, and it was the moment that everything changed between them.
To anyone else it would look like nothing dramatic had occurred, Earth still came late to class, and he was still extra and loved to tease the younger for being so serious. To others, everything had remained the same, but Mix knew that everything had changed.
He had changed and so did Earth. They teased each other but it was more intense somehow, Mix felt that the way Earth looked at him even when the others weren't looking was charged with something he couldn't describe.
At the start Mix did all he could to avoid Earth and his annoying personality but now he found himself drawing near to the man without even trying.
It went without question that if pair work was involved for an assessment, everyone knew that Earth and Mix would find each other immediately and Mix knew that it was strange to want to be near Earth all the time.
But he couldn't help it, not when Earth seemed to give him this look and a particular smile that Mix never saw given to anybody else besides himself. There was no one else in the room that Earth bought daily coffee and pastries for, armed with a smile that could rival the sun.
No one else who got to see the Earth Pirapat laugh carefree or be so excited to show Mix a cat photo that he liked.
And above all else, Mix knew that from the entire class, Earth was the one constantly pushing him to audition and motivating him to work harder to get what he wanted.
It wasn't the first time that Earth was the one to come in running into the room with a poster in his hand, his face all excited as he had found the perfect role for Mix to audition for.
And even when Mix failed to get the role and the absolute dread of having to tell Earth that he failed loomed at the forefront of his mind. Earth merely smiled and took his hand whispering that it was their loss anyway.
Mix was addicted. And he hated himself for it. How did he go from wanting to punch Earth square in the face to wanting to feel his touch, to want them to hold hands and hug and when those pesky intrusive thoughts came in about wanting even more Mix wanted to slap himself to focus.
Everything was confusing him and what made it worse was that Mix was sure that sometimes Earth got this look in his eyes when looking at him, a look of yearning that Mix couldn't find the words to describe.
But instead of wanting to make the first move or even initiate a conversation, Mix had another plan to convey the conflicted noise in his mind and heart.
