karma's a bitch, sis!

Riley Seresin leaned across the pool table, lining up the cue with the white-ball. Her blonde wavy hair framed her face, brushing against her pink cheeks as she lined up the shot. The only ball left was black. And she had it in the bag—she knew she did. Many years of playing pool against the old-timers had made her unbelievably good at it. With a grin sent in the direction of her brother observing her nervously, she hit the ball, bouncing it against the corner of the table and sending it rolling back down towards the black. The two balls connected and the black ball went rolling into the hole.

The Hard Deck erupted into cheers as the blonde held up the pool cue, letting out a victory whoop as her brother groaned and put his head in his hands, crushed in his defeat, "What were you saying earlier about crushing me?" She teased, leaning against the table, smugly grinning her head off at her brother. Usually he was the smug one, with a forever-smirk on his lips. But she had bet him after he had so boldly announced to the whole bar that he was going to destroy her. His words, not hers. The siblings were ridiculously competitive.

Jake waved her off, taking a long sip of his beer, "Please, I let you win, lil sis." Riley rolled her eyes so far into the back of her head that she thought for a brief second that they might get stuck. She had been listening to those words for twenty-six years of life. It was her brothers favourite phrase anytime she bet him at anything—because he couldn't handle the humiliation of a girl beating him; let alone his own sister.

Riley tipped her head back, narrowing her eyes up at her brother who was far taller than her—perhaps one of their only differences. In looks, they were incredibly similar. Both were blonde-headed, although, Riley's hair was more golden compared to her bothers ashy-blond. And they both had identical blue-green eyes, though hers were more wide and doe-like. At least, when she wasn't glaring firmly at her older brother, which could be quite often.

"It must be so humiliating, being the lesser pilot and the shittier pool player." She teased him, the glare shifting into a shit-eating grin. The siblings never looked more alike than when those cocky personalities tried to out-do the other. It was like a reflection in a mirror, both siblings fighting for who had the better grin—and better everything overall.

Coyote, one of her brothers friends who had been observing the intense game hollered out a laugh, "Oh, shit!" He gasped at her insult towards her brother. It was never anything less than entertaining watching the Seresin siblings battle it out verbally. And it was even more amusing when it got physical and they started pushing each other around like five-year-olds.

Her brother threw his head back, a scoff leaving his lips, sending a glare in his friends direction, "Ha! Hilarious, Riles. Really, you'd be far better as a comedian than an aviator," He said, making her raise her eyebrows at him. He pointed at Coyote, "And you, don't encourage her." Coyote threw his hands up in surrender whist her brother took another generous swig of his beer before settling it down and racking up the pool table again.
