Clashing of Beliefs
You think water is for elephants
I’m certain dancing is for rain
Although we both know
Time has no meaning when
You have nothing to gain.
I think the sunrise is beautiful;
You like the sunset most
This is why we get along
Love each other, at best.
I believe I’m going to heaven
You believe in naught but hell
I don’t care what you believe in
I just want you well.
If you are ill and ever need
To talk when I’m too far,
Just look up at the sun or moon
And know that I’m a star
Shining brightest in your universe
I’ll never dim and be outshone
I will be there for you forever
Even when we die,
When I’m in heaven
And you are in your hell.
