"What?" Aru asked, shocked. "You confessed already?" Kara shook her head.

"No." She mourned. "But the.... kinda-date.... went awful." She recounted the events to the younger.

"Oh no! I forgot we had homework from that one math teacher that tried to sing an acapella once!" Aru loudly said.

"I'll help you with it!" Mini added.

"I need to tell you guys how I perfected my macaron recipe!" Brynne said. Kara watched the three girls dash out the door and took a deep breath. It was time to make Aiden fall in love with her.

"So...." She said, putting a lock of hair behind her ear. Aiden picked at the pieces of his scone. She nervously twiddled her thumbs. This was not turning out well. Kara remembered some of the tips Aru had showed her on 'making your crush like you back'

Don't stop smiling.

Look into their eyes.

Laugh at their jokes.

Mimic what your crush is doing.

Flirt by casually touching them.

'Right', thought Kara, 'I can do this'. She grinned as hard as she could and looked him in the eye. Aiden looked bewildered but gave a small smile in return. 'Don't stop', Kara told herself.

"How is life going?" Kara cringed inwardly 'That was so dumb!' She started to internally panic. Aiden cleared his throat.

"Well-" He started but was cut off by Kara's laugh.

"Oh, you're so funny Aiden." She cackled. Aiden raised an eyebrow.

"Thank you?" Kara touched his finger in what she thought was a casual manner but he immediately pulled his hand back. The poor boy was deeply concerned now and a bit terrified, but distracted himself by eating a piece of his broken scone. Kara copied him and ate a bite of her granola balls, but started choking. Aiden rushed to her and whacked her back until she coughed out a chunk of granola.

'Keep smiling,' Kara thought desperately. She forced the corners of her mouth to lift up in a way that made her think she looked stunning. But from Aiden's point of view, it looked psychopathic. 'Flirt by casually touching them' her brain screamed. Kara randomly poked him, all the while beaming maniacally. Aiden abruptly stood up.

"I have to go." He said briskly and walked off. Kara smiled as she watched him go, as if her mouth was permanently frozen in a smirk, but it quickly melted as everything that had just happened sunk in. She burst into tears and ran back to her house, slamming the door to her room. After a couple of minutes of sobbing hysterically, she heard a bang on the door and Aru barged in. The girl looked at her, frightened and confused, her face screamed 'What happened?!' Kara whispered the answer to the unsaid question.

"It failed."

A/N: I've done it again! I'm not sure what to say here anymore since it's a repeat of what I've said last chapter, so yeah. Thank you for reading!
