FOUR
"I'm sorry about Pierre."
Charles Leclerc spoke in an apologetic tone, seeing the girl that was in front of him attempting to hold back tears.
Adelina Oliveria began to chew on her bottom lip as the blue of her eyes became glassy, tears threatening to leak from them.
She didn't want to cry.
Her hands were subtly shaking and her breathing was definitely uneven and erratic and Charles knew that she was struggling with the what Pierre had said, about her father.
Her father was always a sensitive subject.
She hadn't quite lost him like Charles had, but it felt like it, due to the fact that her father was bedridden and unable to talk or move, because of a stroke that he had suffered.
She could still remember the day that it had happened.
Her father had just gotten home after a race where he had gotten third place and had decided to take a seat in the armchair that was in rhein family home.
The next thing that she remembered was seeing her father's face start drooping on one side, unable to lift his arms whilst his words were slurred and not sounding like anything but small mumbles.
She remembered calling for an ambulance, having recognised the signs of the stroke but she was teenager, she was scared.
Was her father going to die?
He might not have physically died like Charles' father had, but it wasn't far off, since he had never recovered, and only seemed to be deteriorating.
Part of her wondered if things would be different if she had been quicker to call for help and not so scared.
"Hey."
Charles gently shook the woman, seeing her eyes glazing over as if she was being forced in to her memories, knowing that she was thinking of her father.
He didn't know of the guilt that she felt every single day for not being able to help her father.
But Pierre did.
Pierre Gasly had always been like her brother, one that she was never able to have, the older sibling who would always look after her and care for her, and love her as if she was his blood relative, his blood sibling.
But what he had said to her, it hurt.
It had stung.
Deep in her heart, burning away at every little bit of guilt that she held for her father, making her feel as if there was a wildfire burning away at her from the inside of her body.
"Hey, don't think about it." Charles gently soothed her, since he had been able to see a single tear fall from her eyes, having to quickly wipe it away from her face so that nobody would see it.
"He's probably just mad. He'll calm down and realise his wrongs." Carlos Sainz spoke as he walked in to the area that the two of them were.
His steps faltered however, when he noticed the stray tear.
"How could he say that?" Adelina muttered quietly, the pain of his words still hitting her, tearing away at her internally.
The two Ferrari drivers exchanged glances, seeing and realising just how much the words that had left the French man had hurt her.
He was supposed to be her friend.
"Ads, He'll come by soon enough and apologise. He'll know that what he said was wrong." Carlos walked up to beside her, placing his hand on her arm.
