Chapter 04

I was super nervous today. Alex's dad called saying he is visiting us today after that sophia complained him.l

"Don't be nervous love" alex said back hugging me.
"I'm trying not to babe"

We heard the door bell.
" let me open the door and again don't be nervous while I'm with you " he pecked me lightly.

" Hi dad! " I can feel the excitement in alex's voice.
" don't you want to welcome me darling..." a woman who was wrapped around mr.Dantae aka alex's dad said while making a pout.

" Hi Linda..." Alex's voice was dull and had a blank expression.

" call me Mom honey..." woman who was called Linda said with a smile. But that smile doesn't seem honest. I don't know why but I felt alex's grip on my hand tighten a little when she mentioned about being his mom.

As far as I know alex's mom died few years ago.

" of course..." step mom"..."

Okay. That clears everything.
I saw linda's face being darken when alex called her step mom. I knew alex loved his mother more than anything.

" so you are that little bitch sophie told about..." now linda's attention was on me.

" Linda...." mr. Dantae gave her a look.

" you don't have the right to call my girlfriend like that " Alex stated grabbing my waist.

I can feel mr.Dantae's eyes scanning me. He was really like what I have seen in photos. He had a domineering aura around him

Alex lead everyone to the living room.

We sat in the couch. Alex grip on my waist was still firm.

" what's your name dear? " mr. Dantae asked me.
His appearance is same as I seen but his behavior is really different from what I have heard.

" I'm Rosana Loren mr.Dantae " I always used my mother's family name for the safety.

" and how old are you ?"

" I'm 20. "

Conversation continued. Mr.Dantae was a perfect dad for Alex. I can see that. But I'm not going to say the same with Linda. She gave me weird looks all the time she was at our house.

Finally they left relieving me.

From what I understood after their visit was that Linda have a huge need to make sophia her daughter in law. Mr. Dantae kinda look lonely even though linda was beside him all the time.

I knew that mr.Dantae was affected from Alex's mothers death. But I never thought he was affected this much.

Alex left for a emergency meeting in the morning. Being a mafia myself I know how important are these meeting. But I don't have go feeling about today's meeting. My mind says something is off.

Usually for meetings, Alex went by himself with his own car. But today a car was sent by his dad and Linda. It was odd.

It's been few hours since Alex left. He hasn't even left a message for me. That's even more odd.

I didn't have my lunch and waited for Alex. My phone rang and it was Luca.
I answered it.

" hey..."

" hey Rosie......what are you doing right now?" Why does he sound a bit nervous.

" waiting for Alex. Why Luca? "

" ummmm......don't panick...okay...."

" what is it Luca? You are making me scared.."

" ummm....Rosie...Alex's car had been crashed and.....he is in the hospital right now....."

" what........ you aren' t joking right...."
I felt my head spinning.

" Rosie....are you still there? "

" y- yeah...."

" wait there...I will pick you up "

I just hung the call unconsciously.
He was with me here few hours ago. Now he is in the hospital.

Luca took me to the hospital.
He was there. The moment I saw him I felt my whole world crashing right in front of my eyes.

I leaned to the wall for support. Mr.Dantae, Linda and Sophia was near him. A doctor came in.

" I'm sorry....but we can't be sure about his condition. "

That made me feel worse.

I wanted to stay near him. He was the everything for me.

" you!!! You did all this....you re the reason " Linda screamed at me.
I was too numb to react.

" what in the world she did? " I heard Luca fighting back.
I couldn't hear their conversation anymore. I only wanted to hear him speaking...

" please can you give more space to the patient..." A nurse said while looking at us.

" Sophie and I would stay. Others better leave " Linda commanded looking at me.

" I want to stay with him. " my voice was barely audible.

" no you can't... you ruined him enough" Sophia screeched.

Mr. Dantae came to me.

" listen child... I know you love him dearly. But right now you shouldn't stay. Linda will look after him well..."

I wanted to fight back them but I couldn't. I wasn't on right mind.

I felt my self being wrapped in a tight hug. It was Fio. I didn't even realized they were also here.

" let's go home Rosie.hmm.........we will visit him again quickly. " Fio mumbled slowly.

I felt so helpless. Not being able to stay by his side when he needed me the most.

I nodded as I couldn't do anything else.

" where do you want to go rose? Yours or..." Nic asked me.

" I don't want to go home alone.......without him" I mumbled.

" let's go to ours Rose "

I nodded.

I was at Nics. I was sitting on the couch. Fio was beside me. Today I tried to visit Alex but Linda threatened me not to.

My whole life I had been threatened way too much. So it didn't scare me at all.
But what she threatened about made me lost my mind. I couldn't believe my own ears.

" don't you dare try to come and see him..."

" why the hell I can't see Alex"

" I'm warning you. Don't try to cross the line. "

" are you threatening me Linda? "

" of course not Rosana....I'm just warning you. Don't you care so much about Alex. I'm sure you don't want to risk his life by trying to come here."

" w-what do y-you mean Linda? He is your son "

" not biologically anyway. So be a good girl and wait till I let you and don't dare telling this to anyone since you don't want to risk his life"

With that she hung the call. I was feeling all sorts of emotions inside of me. Anger, sadness , helplessness....

" what did she tell Rose" Fio asked me.

" n- nothing , she said she would call me when I can visit"
