Chapter 08

(Time skip - after four months)

I was looking down from the window of my office when someone knocked.

" come in "

My brother Domenico came in. Of course holding another bunch of papers.

" Rosie, when are you going to reveal your identity...you need to do it soon princess. You are almost 22 now. "

" I know I know "

I wanted to spend some more time with my baby girl before revealing myself.
Yup.......I had a beautiful baby girl last month. She has the same deep blue eyes as her father. I named her ' Eliza '. She didn't have her father by her side but she had the world's best uncles.

I was grateful for my brothers and Diego for staying by my side no matter what. When I went to labour Diego was by my side all the time. And the thing is I almost broke his arm.

My train of thoughts were cut off by Dom.

" princess ? "

" mmm...yeah, yeah....you can pick a date for the council brother. I'm okay with any day now "

" sure princess "

With that Dom left. I also decided to go to downstairs to see my baby girl. I left her with Diego.

What I saw melted my heart. Diego was lying on the couch sleeping while my angel was sleeping top of him. His hands were wrapped around her securely.

I didn't have the heart to wake them up so I left. I knew Eli was safe with him more than anyone.

Domenico informed me that mafia council will be called on next Monday. Mafia council is like a meeting of high ranked mafias. When a mafia from high ranking family turns 21, they have to reveal their identity to the council. The whole mafia in Italy was controlled by three families. De Luca, Dantae and Balzano were those family and they held the authority over mafia council.
Even though us, the three mafia families were trying to kill eachother every time, we were prohibited to attack eachother at the council. I hated the fact that I had to see Balzanos at the council. Murderers of my parents.
And my worst nightmare....Alex will be there too since he is the heir of Dantaes.

I was getting ready for the council. There will be a party afterwards. I didn't want it but it was the protocol.

Eli was in her crib. I can't take her with me. Most importantly I don't want Alex to see her. You may say I'm selfish and he has the right to know. But I still can't get rid of the way he threw his knife at me. I don't  want even a scratch on my baby.

I haven't left her alone for more than two hours before. So I'm little hesitant to leave her today. I know about those damn councils. They take forever.So I'm going to leave early.

Diego is going to stay here with Eli. That's the only relief I have.

I heard the knock on my door and Leo came in.

" you ready sis? "

" yeah....let's go. "

I took Eli in my arms and went downstairs with Leo.

Dom was already waiting for us. I gave Eli to Diego.

" bye, princess..." I kissed her forehead and she giggled. She is too innocent for this sh!t.

We arrived at the party. I was linked in Dom's arm. Great....just great....all the attention were on us. I can feel all the stares I was getting. I mean who won't. Domenico was the youngest and even though I  wouldn't admit he was one of the most handsome mafia leaders.
You know dad's good genes of course.

Main seats were for Domenico, Stefano and Antonio. We all sat representing our clans. Leo and I sat beside Domenico. And my worst nightmare was right infront me....again RIGHT INFRONT OF ME. I can feel his gaze on me.

Being the eldest among leaders Stefano started the council.

" Ladies and Gentlemen, may I have your attention please... today we called the council to reveal the identity of the youngest member in De Luca family...let us all give her our attention..."

I stood up from my chair and held my chin high. I was ready to remove my mask. The mask I have been wearing for  nearly 22 years...

I removed my mask revealing my identity to the mafia world. I can hear gasps. I saw the way Stefano gulped his words he was going to speak.

" I never knew ruthless killer and princess of the De Luca's were drop dead gorgeous...." the heir of the balzanos, Gabriel muttered.

Identity revealing was ended. Finally.....

Alex's gaze was on me all the time. I don't wanna give a fuck about it.

Almost all the mafiad greeted me at the party. That also included Stefano Dantae and his family...
An unfamiliar woman was linked in Stefano's arm instead of Linda.
Stefano cleared his throat.

" hello ms. De Luca...meet my wife Olivia and son Alessio. "

Aaaawwww.....Mr.Dantae how nice it is to meet your graceful son 'Alessio'.  Note the sarcasm.
I badly wanted to speak it loud.

" awww....you are such beautiful girl princess De Luca. " Olivia, whom I guessd Alex's biological mother because of the features said to me.

Ooo...darling I would have been more pretty if I hadn't met your son before.

" umm...I guess thanks...." I gave the tiniest smile I could. "

One thing popped up in my mind. Didn't they say that she was dead. That  was also by my parents. How come she is alive...

My thoughts were cut off by another greeting.

" nice to meet you Ms. De Luca..."
That asshole Alex greeted me.

Tsk...Like he didn't know me.

" You too.. Mr. DANTAE "

AND Finally I was able to escape from that shithole....pheewwww....I was hella tired of it. I came home with Leo since Dom had to stay.

My angel was already waiting for me with her uncle Diego. God knows how much I missed this little bundle of joy.
