The days passed and Y/N and Lesso used their free minutes to think of a strategy against Rafal. However, the two women had immediately agreed on one thing: He should suffer, and for as long as possible.
But while they were thinking about how to kill Rafal, he had not been completely idle.
In the meantime he had young Sophie completely under his control, every now and then he whispered things to her through the mirror in her room and everything that had once been left of the hopeful, dreamy and kind young woman had now completely disappeared. Not even Agatha could get through to her and the two friends, who couldn't be more different, slowly but surely began to drift further and further apart. Simple conversations usually degenerated into arguments and big disagreements, if such conversations still happened at all.
Y/N saw what the evil magician was doing to the poor girl and she couldn't help but feel a little bad. It wasn't right that they were using Sophie for their own interests and exposing her to some unknown danger, but to undo it all, it was too late for that by now. She and Lesso had come too far to stop now. And yet, if there had been another way, Y/N might have taken it.
The day of the Everball had come, an event so beloved by the Evers and so hated by the Nevers. The envy that there was only a ball for the good guys, while such a celebration would never be held for them, ate them all up inside.
Y/N was just on her way to her room to get comfortable and, with any luck, spend some time together with Lesso, when she was stopped by one of the wolf guards.
"What's going on, did something happen?" she asked with a little raised eyebrow, not understanding what all the fuss was about.
"Professor Dovey has ordered you to leave immediately and meet with her. She said it was urgent. Lady Lesso is also already there, they have requested her presence as well" the wolf clarified to the young woman.
Y/N was a little skeptical. What could be so urgent that Dovey called her and Lesso to her? And that too on the day of the Everball. But her feeling told her that it could not be anything good.
"Thank you, I'll be on my way right away."
With those words, Y/N left the School for Evil behind and strode across the bridge to the festively lit School for Good. By all appearances, her arrival had already been awaited, for when she came to a stop at the gates, they immediately let her in and led her into a secluded room.
Somber and soft music could be heard coming from the ballroom, followed by much laughter and good spirits. It had been ages since Y/N had felt such joy in a room, but the small smile that had formed on her lips as a result instantly disappeared as she entered the adjoining room.
"What's going on here?" she asked, closing the door behind her. Lesso was sitting on a chair in the middle of the room, she had her legs crossed and was playing a little with the cane in her hands. Her facial expression didn't reveal what was going on inside her right now, and that was something that was quite troubling to Y/N.
Across from Lesso stood Dovey, Anemone, and to Y/N's astonishment, Agatha. Each of them looked more serious than the other, but Dovey in particular seemed quite upset.
"Sit down Y/N."
At this point at the latest, Y/N knew something was very wrong, because unlike usual, all empathy was gone from Dovey's voice and she looked like she was going to explode with anger any second. While Y/N didn't understand the whole fuss, she also didn't want to mess with Dovey unnecessarily. For this reason, she stepped closer into the room. Instead of grabbing another chair and sitting on it, the young woman instead settled on the armrest of the chair Lesso was sitting in.
Instantly, a satisfied grin crept onto the redheaded dean's lips and she eased one hand off her cane. This hand she wrapped around Y/N's body to keep her on the armrest.
