I got home from work and set my stuff down. I immediately noticed how quiet it was. I figured instead of going to the park, I would take advantage of the quiet for the time being.

I checked my phone, noting that it was fairly well charged, and the time was 4:17pm. This had been a tiny bit past when riki got home from work. I settled on calling her without the worry of background noise. The phone rang for a couple of seconds before riki picked up.

"Hey Blaise, how are you," riki picked up with a cheerful tone. That was odd because riki normally is a good bit tired after work. "Hey riki, I'm doing alright. How are you." I replied, trying to match her tone. "I'm fantastic. Are the neighbors giving you any more trouble?" She replied like she was eager to say something other than what she had.

"Not currently. I'm assuming their not home, is their something you want to say? You seem excited," I responded  with a voice laced of confusion. "Oh my god, I am so glad you asked," She spoke quickly, then starting up again. "Guess who gets to take of work to visit their friend in Brighton!" She blurted out fast, squealing shortly after.

I was stunned in silence. It had been over a year since she moved to London for work. I hadn't seen her since then. After my short silence, I asked if she wanted to say with me.

" Are you kidding me? You know I would've broken in any way to stay with you." Rikina spoke matter a factly. I laughed it of when my attention was turned away from the call and to the wall behind me.

They were home, I sighed, hoping they would stay quiet for the remainder of my call. Thought it seems as if life has it out for me as I now hear screaming and loud laughter. riki laughed on the other side of the phone, noticing my distress.

That traitor, I thought, as I heard the phone beep signaling the call ended. This is followed by a text saying, 'I'll leave you to  go complain to your neighbors ;]'

I sat their for a moment, contemplating whether I should tell them to be quiet or not. It seemed like a good idea until the thought of having to deal with talking to people arose.

I will just talk another time for now. I will just blast music into my earphones, hoping it drowns out their noise enough.
