Mephiles closes the story book that he was reading to the two girls, he really wasn't much for stories that had happy endings or involve a princess or something, so he just read the Grimdark Fairytales, or just made one up. He tucks the two hoglets in.

"Daddy..." Sapphire called out. "We will get Mommy back...r-right?" She tilts her ears down when Mephiles rubs her head, "Of course, Sapphire...what Mommy did, was brave of him to do, after all you four are worth protecting."

Sapphire sniffs nodding "Get some sleep, a young vampire like you needs all the resting"

"Goodnight Daddy" Sapphire purrs as she gets comfortable into her bed. Mephiles puts the book back into the bookshelf, closing the blinds to make sure the sun doesn't cook his daughters alive, then closes the door behind him, he lets out a small sigh, he knew what Sonic did was right, but he just wished that he could at least stop the organization from kidnapping him, the hard part is finding which build Sonic was being kept in.

The demon looks at the ring on his finger and clinches his hand, The Vampire meant a lot to him, not because the immortal being was full of despair, but actually help the demon feel something other than despair, but this time, he wasn't going to let anyone take him away, creatures like him and Sonic deserve to be happy and live in peace, with Mortals. He opens the door to the bedroom. "Don't worry Sonic...I'll find you, Those Mortals need to be stopped"

/Memory/

Sonic took one more step into the deep snow that was up to his ankles, the vampire looked sickly and hungry, the thick snow storm was blocking the sunlight and his vision of where he was going, he tries walking but only stumbling forward into the snow beneath his fur and muzzle was very pale than normal, his ankle frost bitten and black along with his fingers and face. The vampire can see his breath, at least he was going to go out knowing that he was nothing but freak, and monster. His vision went completely black.

A week went by and the storm cleared, but thanks to the thick blanket of snow over the vampire's body covered the light of the sun.

Sonic skin started to burn under the sunlight, but the vampire was in a deep slumber that he didn't feel it, Mephiles covers Sonic with the cloak to stop the sun from burning his skin. "What is a young thing like you doing out in the place this..."

"Ugh...Argh..." Sonic groans before his eyes fluttered opened and he looked around to see that he was in a pitch black room, his clothes hanging on the door dripping with water, he was laying on a comfortable king size bed, that was soaking wet from the ice melting off of his body, his was still very pale, in his blue fur and muzzle, his body aches the vampire forces himself up, and he shuffles his paws on the floor, he looks at the black curtains he pulls them to the side to see a bright red sky, the vampire hisses...the light felt like the sun rays. He closes the blinds and started to shuffle to the door, to only have his legs give out.

"Oh your awake?" Mephiles said, To Sonic's eyes Mephiles looked like Shadow and the vampire whimper scooting back, tears in his eyes. Mephiles tilts his head before he steps into the light, or the light that was peaking in from the opened door, Sonic saw that Mephiles' structure was entirely different from Shadow. The blue hedgehog sniffs and whimpers...he can smell the blood that was Mephiles and his just knew the demon wasn't mortal.

Sonic sniffs again and smelt mortal blood on Mephiles his instants got the better of him and the vampire shows his fangs. "Here...you need this more than I do" Mephiles said holding up the blood pouch of type O blood. The vampire snatches the blood pouch and bites into it sucking the blood out of the pouch.

"Now tell me...What's a little vampire like you doing in the cold?" Mephiles asked.

Sonic tilted his ears back as tears started to form in his eyes. "I...I...I was exiled...from my home village..."

"Well you are safe here, I can assure you" Mephiles said "You are free to get some rest and make yourself at home"

Sonic blinks and looks up at Mephiles "W-Why would you want a monster like me...in your house?..."

Mephiles chuckles "Well I'm not mortal, I'm a Demon, and I for one couldn't let you die a second time"
