CHAPTER ONE
Be The Selfless One This Time
TW for Suicide (happens for a split second.)
Lizzie was sitting on the roof of the school, drinking from a bottle of bourbon that she stole from her dad's office. Clutched in her left hand was a vial of Hope's blood at least she thinks...anyways she also stole this from her father's possession.
She looked up at the sky. The moon was bright and there were quite a few stars out tonight. She could just make out a few constellations: Orion's Belt, Canis Major, and Gemini. She sighed. Just another reminder of why she's out here instead of the comfort of her own bed or Hope's but everything had been awkward between them.
She had caught the Tribrid kissing
Landon Kirby her ex-boyfriend even though she broke up with him not a few weeks back. Lizzie didn't know why I had hurt her so much. Sure her and the short girl had been hanging out together. watching movies all night, going into town, sleeping over. But it didn't matter anyway Hope Andrea Mikaelson wasn't hers. You can do whatever you want Hope, you don't have to explain anything to me.
She remembers telling the short girlIt's not like the Saltzman had feelings Hope, she had managed to bury those feelings deep down a long time ago. Yes, She liked the tribrid. She always had, but her attempts of becoming Hope's friend at the ages of five, nine, and thirteen didn't do much for her confidence. Josie admitting she torched half the school because of her crush on Hope and accusing Lizzie of stealing her crushes was a low blow.
That's not fair, Lizzie thought. I liked her first.
Of course Lizzie had the horrific luck of finding out that Josie's feelings were reciprocated. Josie didn't even have to try and people would fall for her. Lizzie didn't want to think about what would've happened had Hope read that letter.
The blonde sighed snapping out of her thoughts for a moment, looking back up at the moon.
It was a First Quarter, a half-moon.
How relevant like my sister and I. Two sides of the same coin, opposites. One of us was obscured by shadows.
Despite being twins, they couldn't be more different in aspects of personalities, looks, or practically anything else. Josie was patient, kind, and always willing to listen to and help others. On top to thinking she was mentally ill, Lizzie was brutal and bitchy. Of course, Josie had her moments when she lit her ex on fire and experimented with black magic (with Hope, Lizzie bitterly reminded herself). Lizzie recalled Dark Josie and how, despite the fact that she had actually killed Alyssa Chang and was attempting to force the Merge, no one had given up trying to save her.
If it were me, would everyone else act the same way? Or would they just kill me? Leaving me gods were to die.
Maybe her best friend MG wouldn't give up on her. He only seen the good in her, no matter what. The blonde knew she would be too much for him. He was sweet and kind and lovable. But he needed someone better for him. Someone who would truly love him the way he wanted to be loved by Lizzie, instead of turning him down like she had done so many times. It didn't sit right with the younger Saltzman, how everyone for gave Josie so easily and turned a blind eye to everything she has done; no one seemed to realize that dark Josie was actually Josie the dark magic she had been using black magic just brought that dark part out of her, the part that she doesn't like no one see the part of herself that she's too afraid of. a part of her that she kept locked away, On the other hand, if it were Dark Lizzie, her father would've had Josie make another prison world just for her. Lizzie could be bitter all she wanted, but she knew that the problem wasn't the dark magic, it was the Merge; all Dark Josie wanted to do was to get the Merge over with. Lizzie couldn't blame her.
