Piers awoke alone in bed that morning. He got up and put on some loungewear before walking into the kitchen to make some tea for his sore throat. On the fridge he saw a note from Chris that said: "Had to take care of some stuff at work, I'll be back for dinner P.S. I'll bring food. :]" Piers smiled at the cute note and began to boil some water before getting a cup and putting a tea bag in. Once his tea was made he sat down and watched some TV while he drank it. He was interrupted by a phone call from the prosthetic company.

"Hello this is James, I have some good news! One of our clients canceled so we had more time for your order and your new arm will be ready in just two days!"

"That's great." Piers couldn't believe he was going to get it so soon.

"You can just stop by our local headquarters at [address] anywhere from one to four pm!" James said before wrapping up the call. Piers' first thought was that he couldn't wait to tell Chris. The good news had put Piers in such a good mood that he decided to put on his eyepatch and take the bus down to the BSAA's headquarters and start using their gym again.

Piers arrived at the inconspicuous building and let himself in using his keycard. He was greeted by the warm and familiar face of the receptionist. She welcomed him back and they made small talk for a while before he headed over to the BSAA's in-building gym. He let himself into the locker room where he changed into a tank top and some long shorts. It took him longer than he would've liked to admit but he assured himself that it would get easier with time. When he entered the gym a few people came and welcomed him back and congratulated him on what was a successful mission - on paper at least. Piers would never tell them this, but they lost so many good men on that mission that he would never consider it a full success. After they finished welcoming him back and made more of the same small talk he got to work. He started with some sit ups before moving onto a side plank. He finished off with some crunches before moving to one of the machines. He spent most of his workout using the different leg machines until he switched at the end to his arm. He knew he would have to get his left arm twice as strong as it was if he wanted to be able to do certain things he used to. After almost two hours, he decided to head back home and didn't bother changing. He went into the locker room to grab his clothes and then started to walk towards the exit.

On the way there he heard someone in front of him call out, "What's a hottie like you doin' in a place like this?"

Piers looked up to find Chris staring at him with a big, dumb (but charming) smile on his face.

"I could ask you the same thing, handsome." Piers said this with a wink and the two burst out laughing. They were each thinking how good it felt to laugh with each other. They could each use some joy in their lives after everything that's happened to them.

"I take it you're using the gym though?" Chris asked more genuinely.

"I was just heading home actually, although I'm glad I came today. It's not often you get to see Chris Redfield in a suit." A hint of lust was hidden under that sentence and Piers hoped it stayed hidden, at least while he was at work.

"Oh god I forgot I was wearing the thing. There was some big meeting today but it got canceled. I was just on my way out too, give you a ride?" Chris would never admit it but he was glad Piers got to see him in his suit. He hardly wears them and hates that he has to at meetings but he knows he looks damn good in them.

The two talked the whole drive home, mostly about the news of Piers' prosthetic. They stopped to pick up dinner from a little out of the way restaurant they both liked on the way home and enjoyed being in each other's company for the car ride. When they got home Chris mentioned he was going to change into some clothes he kept in the car but Piers had sheepishly asked him to keep the suit on. Who was Chris to deny such a charming man? They both finished their dinner fairly quickly and the whole time they ate, Piers was just gawking at Chris wearing the suit.
