The definition of a Princess

You followed the two guards as they led you to the Main Area. You were greeted by Kane sitting in your new thrown.
"How'd you get out those chains?!" You questioned and he grinned.
"I have my ways"
"Haven't you heard Kane?" You adjusted your crown, "I'm Queen now! You have no business sitting on that thrown or giving orders! Guards, drag him down from that chair!!"

They nodded but Kane was unfazed. He stepped down from the chair himself and shrugged.

"Fine Princess.. you win"
"What?"
He looked up at you with green eyes, "You win. I lose. Hang me for treason and save your killer"

You noticed the guards glance at each other confused.

"Shut your mouth Kane!! You don't.. God I don't have time for this!" you stated turning to the guards, "Lock him up in the dungeon where he won't escape!"

To your surprise, Kane didn't struggle against the Guards. As soon as he was out of your sight, you rushed to the execution area.
As expected, there was a large crowd of people yelling and throwing stuff on stage.
You ran up the back way where the king usually sat for executions.

"Are you ready my queen?" the executioner asked.

You didn't even reply as your jaw dropped. Lenon was in the same position, in the same place as when Glamelia was executed.
You balled your first and adjusted your crown.
You were Queen now, you were going to rule exactly how you wanted to.

"THERE WILL BE NO EXECUTION" you shouted out to the crowd and everyone paused, "Blood will no longer be shed in this monarchy!!"
"He's a murderer!! My daughter was killed by that bastard psycho!!" A woman screamed and the crowd continued to shout out.

"He deserves death!!"
"It's only fair!!"
"He killed the King and many more!!"

You began to break a sweat as the huge crowd began to rally with anger. You glanced over at Lenon and his black hair covered his face.
The tapping again began to circle around you.

Tap.
Tap.
Tap.

It began to mess with your mind as you stood in the heat. It was your new duty as the Queen to keep everything in order.
You had to make an order of justice. Everything had to be fair. Not to mention, make sure other nations didn't move in and attack.

Wait..

"SILENCE EVERYONE" you shouted and the executioner swung his axe to the ground.

The crowd went silent as you stepped up over everyone. It was your first speech as Queen.
You had to make sure everyone remaining in the kingdom was on your side.

"He is a murderer!! A killer undeniably!! But I said there will be no more slaughtered blood on my land! Not in my kingdom.." before anyone could yell out you continued, "He will be given a different punishment!! As you all know other nations are looking at our instability! They have seen our own Guards and Lady Regent turn on us!! Our own King being assassinated and our killing of our own people!!"

It was time to tell the truth. You took a deep breath and let it out.

"LONG AGO! SOMETHING I WAS NOT AWARE OF  BECAME APPARENT. THE KING MADE A DEAL WITH OUR NEIGHBORING NATION!!" you gritted your teeth, "A deal to kill people born of years XXXX and XXXX!! These were considered death years to prevent war!! He intended on doing another one TODAY!!! But he was assassinated!!"

People in the crowd gasped and became frightful with anger.

"What are we going to do?!"
"I can't believe our own king.."
"How do we know you won't do the same!!"

You took off your crown and got on your knees as you bowed to the public. People gasped with confusion.

You bit your lip and continued to speak, "I PROMISE YOU, THE DEATH YEARS WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN BUT NEVER CONTINUED. IF IT MEANS WAR.. SO BE IT. I HOLD YOU ALL ABOVE MYSELF. I MAY HAVE JUST BECAME QUEEN TODAY BUT IVE ALWAYS THOUGHT THIS WAY!!"

You stood up and put back on your crown. The Kingdom was shocked, which is exactly what you wanted.
You helped Lenon out of his shackles and he was also surprised.

"As for his punishment I spoke of.." you said loudly with dead eyes as you looked at him, "Lenon Sorme shall be the Head Knight of the new regiment that will be on the front line of the war. He will be the one who protects our nation on the frontline.. or else he will be put to death.."
A young man spoke out, "A new regiment?? Most of our Guards betrayed us and imprisoned the innocent!! We barely have enough Guards to fill those regiments.."
You smiled and stepped forward, "That's where I need all of your help!! I need all the young men and women who are willing to risk their lives for our nation!! WHO IS WILLING TO PUT THEIR LIFE ON THE LINE FOR US ALL?!"

At first there was silence which made you tense up, but then there was a shout that filled your heart.

"ME!!!"
"ME TOO MY QUEEN!!"
"ME ASWELL!!"

Soon they all began to shout and you smiled.
You looked at Lenon who still had his surprised expression. You raised his hand to the people.

"He will make up for his crimes by dedicating his life to the new Regiment called 'Death'. For if he tries to leave the regiment, that's what he will be put to!!" you shouted one last time and everyone cheered.

You bowed and ordered guards to walk around with clipboards to sign everyone up for the Kingdom Militia. Soon the crowd dispersed and you left to tend to other important matters, such as Kane.

"Wait!!" The killer caught up to you, still in shackles,
"Princess.. I can't believe you've done this.."
