I looked around me. The majority of the 300 chosen were boys, but there were a few girls scattered about, including me. I don't know why I'm here. I've never played in a match. I've been to practice, I've learned the basics, but I've never had the chance to apply them. I've always been on the side lines, and yet, I'm here. Was it some sort of mistake? Sigh. Well, Ego did say the contestants were chosen based off of his own biased assessments. Maybe I'll finally get a chance to play here.
Everyone started running towards the opened door, all that was left behind me was a whitish-blonde haired boy. "This isn't right... Hey you. Are you gonna go along with this?" His voice was filled with anger and concern. "Hey-" He took a deep breath. "I'm sorry, I didn't even introduce myself. I'm Kira Ryosuke. And you?"
"I'm (y/n). Um, to answer your question, I don't really know what's going on here... and I don't really know what he means by Egoist, but if I leave now, I'll never get to play soccer anyways, so yeah. I'm going along with it." I said, turning around, and walking towards the big open doors.
He jogged to catch up to me. "I'll go along with this too, but only to prove that this way of thinking about soccer is wrong."
"Okay. I don't really understand it, maybe it's because I've never played, but I'll try to help you out."
"That's what I'm talking about (y/n)! We're gonna take this Ego guy down from within his own creation.
I smiled. "Okay!"

I looked at my uniform. I wasn't a big fan of onesies but I guess it'll have to do. Entering the room labeled Z, I was greeted by a pool of men, half naked, scattered around the room, all eyes on me. Quickly, I shut the door, and turned around, taking a deep breath, as I walked away. I guess there were more boys than girls. Time to find a bathroom to change in instead.
I walked around the empty hallways until I saw a sign with a female figure on it. That usually signals a bathroom. Entering the room, I saw another girl washing her hands, I read the back of her shirt. V? I guess she's a rank higher than me. No matter. Seeing another girl felt nice.
"What?" She asked.
"Huh? Oh, Sorry, I just haven't see any other girls around since everyone was gathered together."
"This is a male dominant sport. What do you expect?"
"Sorry, I didn't-"
"Aw, who am I kidding?" She turned around, her long red hair catching the momentum as she moved, and smiled. "I'm Ryuna. I'm just nagging your chain."
"Thank goodness." I chuckled.
"Seriously though, there's not a lot of girls here. Don't get locked off in the first round."
My back straightened. "I'll try my best."
"Good luck." She waved.
"You too."
Ryuna exited the bathroom. Wait, I just realized, I didn't even tell her my name! I dropped my uniform to the floor, and ran out the bathroom, looking both ways in the halls, but she was nowhere to be seen. I missed my chance...
I retreated back into the restroom, picking up my uniform, and entering a stall. Putting on the uniform, I thought about what Ryuna said. Was it even fair to pit us up against guys? I'm all for equality, but my entire soccer career is on the line here, though, I guess there isn't much to risk for me. It's a stretch to say I had a career to begin with. Some people actually have a chance. Ryuna, she seemed confident, and had a nice build. She was taller than me, and she's in a higher group than me. I know I said I wouldn't get locked out, but I can't make any promises.
