Hi everyone,

welcome to my new book!

First of all I would like to say that while writing, I was inspired by the incredibly talented everlovingdeer and her amazing book of Harry Potter stories. Make sure to check her out, because her writing is absolutely addictive.

Anyway, I decided to write my first one shot about Remus Lupin as I absolutely love his character. I'm not sure how I feel about it though - this is actually my first ever story that had more than 1000 words and I actually finished it, so I believe there is a lot of room for improvement, but please let me know what you think.

Enjoy the reading :))

The beginning of the sixth year came sooner than I have anticipated and before I could even realise it, I was boarding the Hogwarts express yet again. Walking through the carriages, dragging my heavy luggage behind me, I searched all the compartments in the hope of finding my friends. The train was filled with happy chatter of all the students sharing their holiday adventures.

At the call of my name, I quickly turned my head in the direction of Daphne who was standing just few carriages in front of me, franticly waving her hand with a huge smile plastered on her face. Before I could even walk to her, she has already run up to me and crushed me in a tight hug.

"You act like we haven't seen each other in years," I chuckled lightly and patted her on the back "it wasn't even two months."

"I know but it still feels like ages!" she pouted which made me smile. I swear, she has always been such a drama queen.

Me and Daphne have been friends since we were just small kids as our families were very close. At the beginning of this summer, right after the school year ended, both of our parents took us to explore France. Needless to say, we both really enjoyed it.

Without another word, Daphne ushered me to the compartment where the rest of our dormmates were chatting. I sat down and joined the conversation while watching the passing pictures of the beautiful British countryside.

When we finished talking about our summer holiday, I was, as usual, picked to collect something for everyone from the trolley. I wondered why I never resisted but on the other hand it was always nice to stretch my legs after few hours of sitting.

Grabbing the list my friends wrote me I headed out of the carriage and closed the door behind me. Lost in my thoughts I set off in the direction of the queue that was forming behind the trolley just few meters ahead of me. I wasn't paying too much attention to my surroundings, which I regretted the moment I collided with a tall figure carrying packages of sweets, leading to the person dropping everything on the floor.

"I'm so sorry, I wasn't looking," I stuttered quickly and crouched down to collect everything that was scattered on the floor. The person chuckled and when they crunched next to me to help me collect the stuff, I recognised them to be the Gryffindor prefect, Remus Lupin.

"No problem, Harrison," the boy in front of me smiled as I handed him some of the food.

Before any of us could say anything more the voice of Potter echoed through the air quickly followed by the one of Black.

"Moony, where are you with the food? We've been waiting for ages!"

"Stop flirting and get back in here!"

Taking the rest of the sweets from me, Lupin straightened up and rolled his eyes. Even though he tried to hide it I noticed as his cheeks tinted with pink colour.
