"Sir, the stable boys said that they found something you might want to see" my butler told me as I sat up in my bed. I rolled my eyes in annoyance, it's always something every day.

I got out of bed and changing into my house colors. I slipped on my purple coat over my shoulders and slipped out to see what the fuss was all about. I saw a crowd of my servants standing around looking at something by our lake. "Move out of my way. Why have you all stopped working? Get back to work now!" I yelled making everyone scatter.

I smiled to myself as I watched everyone run away. I glanced down at the ground where everyone was looking, there by my lake lay a girl. She looked like she had frostbite on her bare feet and her clothes stuck together as I picked her up.

She had amazingly long fire red hair but I realized that she was wearing some weird clothes. I snapped my fingers and my fire bird appeared. "Yes she has red hair no it's not what you think. I'm sending for my sister, go get her so she can take care of this" eek he flapped his flaming wings and took off to the manor I was staying at for the time being.

I had yet to look at her face, and I didn't want to. It was a blessing to have red hair like the fire goddess ember, I glanced down and saw her lips had started turning purple "I wonder how she survived such weather in her condition? It's the middle of the winter months." I thought to myself.

I looked over at the manor and saw my sister dust through the kitchen doors like a bull. I glanced back down at the girl in my arms and looked over her face. She looked so frail, her face held what looked to be worry and confusion but yet she looked so at peace.

"Brother is it another kidnapped girl?" She asked getting closer to me "oh my, her hair!" She said taking the girl from me and turning away. "Her hair matches ours brother. I say if she doesn't remember who she is we keep her here. It's safer for everyone" and she walked back to the manor without a single look at me. Typically people with red hair are killed, said to carry bad luck and misfortune upon the family.

Our mother had red hair but dyed it to get the attention of our father. After five years of being married they had my sister and then a year later had me. But since their first born was a girl she wasn't aloud to take over the family business and assets. That left me and this hideous old house, don't get me wrong I love my house and my life but I didn't want to run a business I wanted to protect the emperor, I wanted to be a knight.

I walked back to my office remembering all the time I spent training, for years I wanted nothing more then to protect the emperor but I'm now stuck at this house. I'm one of the only men who can stand the sting of fire, people with red hair are special. Fire doesn't burn them.

Parents who have children with red hair feed them to the wolves to keep it a secret. It's said to be a curse amongst families whose ancestors did wrong in their past lives. The poor girl must of been scared making it this far in life and then almost have it taken from you.

I sat in my office for hours until my sister busted in "she's awake and remembered nothing. I told her we thought she was kidnapped and was going to be sold over seas. She won't want to leave after that. I wonder if she remembers her name?" She said to herself.

"If not we can make one up for her since you like her so much. No one asks questions anymore anyways. Come see her she's awake, oh call a doctor we need her to get checked over again since she's awake" my sister smiled at me and my her red hair fell in front of her face.

She tossed her waist long hair over her shoulder and walked out of my office. "Such a drama queen when it comes to exits" I said as I got up out of my office chair and walked to the door. "Alex, go fetch the doctor from town. Tell him we need him ASAP" Alex bowed his head and went walking down the hall.

I turned left and continued until I got to the room we had given the girl "no you look good in that dress the maid did a great job!" My sister practically screamed. I knocked on the door which was partially open "come in brother!" "Bella I told you when I'm front of others call me by my title. It's disrespectful." I told her as I walked in and turned my gaze to the new red head in the house.

My sister had hand picked a few dresses from her wardrobe and it appeared that she really liked purple. Our family color. "Doesn't she look stunning in purple! She looks just like..." she trailed off "if you don't like the color I can change!" The girl said gripping the dress in her hands at her waist. "No don't worry about changing. What's your name? How did you get on our land?" I asked her.

She seemed to be thinking hard because her face started turning shades of red "m-My name is Clare winsome, I have no absolutely no clue how I got here. I also apologize for any trouble I might have been" she seemed rather nervous but I brushed it off as shyness.

"My name is James Ve Dero, your currently staying in the west wing of our manner. You are more then welcome to stay as long as you need since it seems you can't remember anything yet. Once your memory comes back we can try and find your family" she glanced up as me then back to the ground.

"I, don't have one. I remember running through the trees trying to get away from something but my father never came after me. I'm assuming he's gone" Clare seemed to remember more then we thought. "Do you know why you have red hair?" I asked she seemed smarter then she led on.

"It's just my hair color? Is it special or something?" She had no idea. "Do you know where your from, close by?" I asked crossing my arms in front of my chest. "I don't remember that. Just that I was running from something and my name im sorry" she apologized.
